The rest of my photos from the skatepark, I really liked the colourful skateboard designs and the scratched up textures found around the park. -Keilidh
I imagine my client to be a recent graduate who thought he had to go to college to play beer pong. He doesn’t really know what to do but he loves pizza so he landed a job as a pizza delivery driver (unfortunately he was wrong in his assumption that this would lead to unlimited free pizza). He likes dogs but dogs don’t like him, especially when he’s wandering into their homes with strange cardboard boxes. He skateboards as a hobby and uses a bike to get around.
Photos I took at Unit 23 of people trying skateboarding -Keilidh
The 5 w's of Skateboarding
What: Skateboarding is an action sport in which the skateboard is used to perform tricks and as a means of transport. Street skating tricks involve riding on rails, jumping steps and doing tricks on the ground.
Why: It was made as an alternative to surfing when the waves were calm and as such was known as Sidewalk Surfing, basically it was a way to surf on land.
Where: The first skateboards interestingly appeared in both California and in France, these early skateboards were simply roller skate wheels hammered onto wood.
Who: No one knows who made the first skateboard, it was seemingly made by a group of people.
When: It was first invented in 1953.
