Miller snarled when the other man caught him unawares. He had not anticipated an attack, and yet given just how hostile this guy was to him since their initial meeting it should not have been such a shock for the jerk to take the opportunity to strike. His eyes spit dark fire at the one who had made such a sport of out riling his anger.
“What the fuck, man?!”
"Nefer senet."
“Um, that’s cool, I guess?”
"You must truly be the disappointment of your family."
“Wow. You got me there. Because winning the approval of the rest of my dysfunctional incest witch clan is totally my top priority in life.”
"I hope you die on your prophesied death... simply because I'd be somewhat of an amusement to see what would follow."
Listening to the man’s taunt, Miller calmly pulled out a cigarette so he could light it. He took a long pull from it as he squinted thoughtfully at the man. Then he exhaled a cloud of smoke in the dude’s direction and smirked. “If my prophesied death comes to pass, then I’ll be dead – but you’ll still be a bitch.”
"You're a fool to keep her close, Miller"
“There’s something else I keep close to me. It’s.. I think it’s right here in my pocket. Hold on.” The nerd dug inside the right pocket of his jean, fishing around, until he lifted his hand and showed the man his middle finger with a bright, sarcastic smile. “Woah, look. There it is.”

It was years since anyone had physically struck him. The glasses, despite being a mere dummy pair, were normally effective at preventing people from hitting him in the face. Brown eyes bled blacker with anger in the few seconds before his right hand swung out in its own vicious backhand. “What the hell is your problem?”
