I ship kenrius, and I really feel like its overhated, I mean I can kinda get the incest point of view,,,, kinda??? But at the same time, Kenji was 15 when they met, he was probably only living there for what? 3-4 years? If both of them are adults when you ship them, whats the harm exactly?? Not to mention ITS A FICTIONAL SHIP?!

What happened to ship and let ship?

Not a kenrius shipper but i am very much with you. This fandom is verryyy over attached to its first three popular ships (yasammy, benji, dinostar) witj the exception of my pookies benrius, but shipping culture is not about strict canon adherence. Its about having fun. I hear it used to be way more lax in the past but now people will literally come after otjers for who they ship? Even if its objectively uncontroversial? Like its not that deep?

LONG rant/explanation below so i added a read more thingy. Your welcome.

I am a brokerlynn defender in spite of the controversial age gap. For some reason, brokerlynn is treated with less disgust that kenrius? Not saying there should be any disgust at all but its like, the problematic age gap ship with a trafficker super villain is okay but not the other one because two guys who arent related called each other brothers a few times? Lmfao make it make sense. NO SHADE TO BROKERLYNN FANS BTW I LOVE YALL. Brooke is an adult and toxic yuri all da way!!! I am just very much a “ship and let ship” person. THESE GUYS ARENT REAL!!

I feel like modern fandom culture really overuses incest allegations to attach disgust to ships they dont like!! I see it with dinostar sometimes. People are like “nooo they have such sibling vibes!”

Addressing the Kenrius allegations:

1. The brother stuff is overblown. They arent actually related

2. They did not grow up together and kenji spent a few years livinh with D’s family at the most. You cant tell me D and Kenj have a canon friendship that is significantly different from Ben & Kenji or Ben & Darius. If anything, they are just canonically “closer” or have spent the most time together considering the whole living together thing.

3. People take the brother thing too literal. Men call their friends brothers all the times. Im AFAB and i sometimes refer to my female friends as “sister” or my male friends as “brother.” Do i actually feel the same way about them that i do my actual brother and sister? NO!!

4. Sometimes, people can be in denial of their feelings. My first boyfriend was someone i had known since the 5th grade and was friends with since middle school. I too said “nahhh i dont like him. Hes like a brother to me!!” Spoiler: we ended up dating for a year. Sometimes, when we have feelings that we dont know what to do with or are sfraid of, we try to overcorrect and go to the other extreme to dismiss any possibility of said feelings.

Im not saying everyone who refers to their friends as analogous to siblings are secretly harboring romantic feelings for them. Im just demonstrating that it is a possibility.

5. The brotjer thing can be comphet. Many people are quick to say bengia can be comphet which is a valid interpretation , but that can apply to kenrius too!!

. YOU, kenrius anon, are valued and i respect you and your ship. Keep doing what youre doing and if you ever experience any hate feel free to come vent about it to me.

listen, benrius is ofc my first pick and brookenji was nice and although I'm not a fan of dinostar, i get it....

Kenji x Darius was set up from the beginning and no one can change my mind

They were the first two that immediately had a character dynamic, and their dynamic changed over time throughout the show, going from hating eachother to being best friends

Kenji getting adopted by the Bowmans was shoehorned in at the last second, literally last 5 minutes of the episode, it's a "surprise!!! Theyre actually brothers now!" And I'm convinced the executives got involved so there wouldn't be another canon gay ship

And before anyone comes at my throat about their age gap, Darius is BARELY younger than Brooklynn but all of you ship her and Kenji so shush

Anyway yeah I ship it, I ship Benrius more but still ship it

Tbf not all of them ship kenji and brooklynn, plenty of people had an issue with that age gap too
