study session - amnesia fic
idea my friendo ( @iiconfettii ) gave me and i had to do it.
ukyo jumped a bit at the sudden question, looking back and smiling a bit. “eheh, y-yeah i’m fine.”
“you’ve been stuck staring at the questions presented to you for a while.” kent pointed out, causing the other to look surprised at his examination. “are you stuck?”
“i uhm...m-maybe a little.” he flushed a bit, sharing the math notebook to kent, looking away a bit. despite this lesson of their’s being a bit harder with multiplication being introduced, it wasn’t just that that caused him to space out. as of lately something about the math wiz kento himself has been nagging at the back of his mind ever since they started this tutoring session.
“he’s a bit...mmmm...passionate in a way about math. and a bit stern, but he’s rather good.” came to his mind re-remembering her description of him. and well, she was right definitely. although after a while it’s become a bit...endearing a bit.
“understand?” he jumped, almost yelping a bit as he looked back at those watermelon colored eyes. “y-yeah i think i do.” he hesitated, actually not knowing all he said. it seemed he noticed as he sighed.
“you know, it’s not that bad in not understanding this kind of subject. despite your age.” well there was the stern part ricocheting through. “i-uhm, i know just uh... okay.” he mumbled, deciding not to push further as he looked to some of the examples kento had written down. taking them into consideration he looked back to the book. “i-i think i got it now. a little bit.”
“little bit is better then nothing.”
‘i don’t know whether that feels like a compliment or not.’ he thought to himself, shaking his head as he went back to his work, attempting to answer some of the questions. after a while he finally finished the page, giving it back to kento a bit flustered.
“hm...not bad.” he stated, taking the pencil in his hand as he seemed to be marking some of them. looking back both shared the book as he noticed some of the marked questions. “better then i expected, but obviously we have work to do.” another ricochet hitting him at that. “otherwise, it’s common not to fully get the concept down so it’s nothing to worry over.”
he blushed, feeling his face redden even further as he felt something on his head. looking up he could see it was kent’s hand ontop of it. “...u-uh...are you patting my head?”
“mmm. you did a good job and deserve a reward for it.” why was he getting more flustered??? it was then he felt his hand on his head. “are you getting a fever? somehow that’d make sense on why your not paying attention well.”
“eh?! a-ah no it’s not that it’s just- uhm-” taking a breath, he moved his hand back to his head. “i-i just kind of...sort of...l-like you doing this. a-and maybe-...m-maybe you can...k-keep doing it whenever? ...please?”
both sat completely silent as it felt like kento had to process like a computer what the other had asked. after a few he could feel the hand shift to petting the hair rather close to his cheek. both looked eye to eye, ukyo flustered while kento had the same look on his face, a bit...softened though?
"you boys still doing alrigh-" both looked as the door to kent's room opened and his mother was there, staring at the seemingly gentile scene.
"...my my kento, has your puzzle friend been teaching you such persuasive methods?" she teased, finally getting the other to flush red at that. "m-mother it's-"
"ah yes yes I know, i'll leave you two be." she replied as she closed the door on both of them, now sitting upfront with their heads bowed and blushing profusely.
"it's...it's fine. she's like that sometimes." he then cleared his throat and picked up the book. "now then, shall we continue the lesson?"
the photographer looked up but nodded getting his own book. "try to pay attention this time."
"if you do then...i'll...give you a reward." he looked away with a light shade of red in his features, making the other click together what he meant as he shuffled closer to him with determination in his eyes.
