Bake off on channel4 yay or nay?
First of all, I wouldn’t gif something I didn’t like, obviously ;)
I usually hate changes and like everyone else I was upset when we got the news about Bake Off changing channels, but we’re two episodes in the new series now and I have to say that for me it’s a yay.
I’m not the best person to ask though - while I adored Mary, Mel and Sue, I wasn’t too attached to the BBC version. I’ve only watched one full series, last autumn (and planned to catch up on the 2015 series, but never got around to it... but I will!).
So far, judging by people’s comments on tumblr (and I've checked several tags and gone pretty deep into them), it’s going alright and most people who gave it a chance weren’t disappointed, but rather pleasantly surprised that they actually like it. Since I didn’t follow the news, seeing Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding as hosts was a nice surprise to me. (Noel is also doing the voiceover using probably his calmest voice ever, it’s amazing and slightly creepy lol).I’m a fan of both, I think they are hilarious on their own, but as it turns out they also make a really funny team and work pretty good together (as weird as such duo may seem) and I’m sure they will keep getting better as time goes by.This year’s participants are likeable and interesting (my favs include Yan, Liam, Kate, and Tom). The new judge, Prue, seems nice as well and I love that she wears different glasses each week.
I watch it commerical-free anyway *cough cough*, so the move didn’t change anything for me in that aspect. Also, the format is exactly the same.
