A comm I got from @phear-ai (also has an account on bsky and an account more focused on bigger ladies called nsmbhill also over on bsky) of our local catgirl Kepler with bigger thighs. She smoked the catnip of doom.
The catnip gives fattening effects, wonder what'll happen if she smoked it more. And will she share with other catgirls?
It's the girl! Kepler now with her own ref sheet, made by thesigmaarts over on bsky! They do primarily size stuff but accepts just about everything within their rules.
I highly recommend their work.
Now onto the actual character information, a thing that I should've done the first go around. Kepler is owned by both myself and @radical124
Kepler:
Height: 6'2
Age: 25
Pronouns: She/Her
Eye Colour: Right eye green, left eye blue
Bio: Kepler to sum her up is a bit of a lazy cat. Being the middle sibling she mostly never got a lot of time to herself, feeling the need to take care of her younger siblings. When she went to college around the age of 19 she for the most part succeeded well with it, despite being part of the 'brilliant but lazy' crowd. She became roommates with her current housemate Star and they complimented each other in various ways. Despite her demeaner she took courses on gravity magic, one of the more advanced studies of magic types out there. She created her little rat familiar Jerry, her loyal companion next to Star.
When she graduated 5 years later, she and Star then bought out a cottage over out aways from Senfold, the village nearby. Afterwards she gained a bit of weight and is very content with life right now. She has a good friend, a good house, and a good routine. What more could she ask for?
Additional Information:
Middle sibling of 7 others in her litter.
Smokes catnip as a relaxant.
Views Star as both friend and tease, same way as one would a sibling.
Her wand is a smooth crystalline bracelet that forms into a wand when in use.
Views most animal people with bit of a grudge (mostly the Neko and kemonomimi variants of her kind, mainly due to how much easier they can get jobs and overall treatment).
Likes goofy gimmick shirts, the ones she owns are some variation of cat pun.
With special guest oc @radical124 's fire elemental, Salene!
-----
It was quiet in the witches home, with the snow gently falling outside. Inside there was a tree all set up, decorations placed everywhere inside the home. Lights were shining dimly inside shared home and at the moment Star was busy getting things ready in the kitchen, getting the food ready for when their guests would arrive along with Kepler, who is surprisingly helping out a lot this season.
"Kepler how are things going on your end?" Star asks her friend.
"Oh you know." She says with a smile, working on slicing the vegetables up and putting them into a steam pot, "Busy. Getting the veggies ready. How about you Star, I know you're finishing up the cake over there and other desserts."
"Just dandy I think." Star puts some candy cane bits onto a cake before topping it with whipped cream at the ends. It's a log cake and to her it's a pretty good cake at that. Butterscotch flour with cream cheese icing topped with some now placed candy cane bits. It should be a good enough dessert for Pepper.
"Did you hear anything from Salene yet?"
Kepler thinks it over before shaking her head. "Not yet. She told me she would be arriving but not exactly when." She looks outside the window, seeing night starting to fall. "I just hope Salene knows where the place is. That she doesn't get lost in the snow. I know she's an elemental and all but still."
Star laughs a little at this. It's not often that Kepler cares about someone on that level. Though she would be a hypocrite if she didn't feel the same way about the other guest coming over. That being the colossal sheep baker, Pepper. Her carriage will be an issue but the mushroom witch thinks she can make it. It's not snowing that bad after all.
"I'm sure she'll be fine."
There was a knock right as Star finishes that sentence, making the mushroom witch smile and gestures to the catgirl, "You answer the door, I can handle the rest of things here. It's just the veggies mainly. The meats in the oven and will take another half hour give or take."
"You sure?"
Star hums, allowing Kepler to leave the kitchen and towards the door. Heading towards the door Kepler opens it, showing Salene on the other side of it, her hair ablaze with a warm fire while also wearing some winter clothing. "Salene! Glad that you came!"
The fire elemental chuckles and walks into the house, "Well I didn't have much going on so I figured that I could come over for the holidays. Cold as hell out here though, even my internal fire couldn't keep up for long stretches of time."
Kepler shakes her head at this before letting her friend step inside and out of the cold. "Make yourself home then. Star says there'll be one more person showing up though that depends on the weather."
The elemental hums at this, "Yeah the snows really piling up. And unlike me I don't think they can melt the snow as easily. Still whoever this person is they do sound interesting. You said that they were a baker?"
Nodding at this Kepler leans against the wall as Salene takes off her layers, "Yeah she's a baker. Once that Star is familiar with. Blocked out house by accident one day and that's how we met. Star took the time to hang out with her more and low and behold Star invites her to our little holiday setting." The catgirl feels a smile for as she looks at her friend, "Thanks again for coming though, really."
Salene laughs and gives the catgirl a pat on the shoulder, "Come on Kep we're friends. 'Course I was going to show up, or at the very least make an attempt at it. Star in the kitchen I take it? Smells good in there."
"Yep she is. Just finishing everything up, decorating the cake. One of them at least."
"Oh nice." Salene says, walking towards the couch and takes a seat, "Well maybe this mysterious baker can come on over soon. What does Pepper look like anyway?"
"Oh she's a sheep for starters."
Kepler notices the grimance on the elementals' face. She knew the reason and does her best to reassure her friend, "Yeah the wool might be an issue. But you can control your fire right? And I am sure that Pepper has dealt with enough customers to know how to handle elementals. It'll be fine. Promise."
While Kepler can see that Salene still was unsure about the whole thing, she talked it over with Star before the elemental arrived. Pepper will be fine. Nonetheless Kepler sees that Salene does her best to relax given the circumstances and takes a seat beside her. "In any case sit back and enjoy. Been a long trip for you just getting here."
"Heh. You aren't wrong there. I may be a fire elemental but I can still feel the cold." Salene laughs as she says this. "Yeah I think I'm gonna like it here. Food is included as well?"
Kepler nods at the question, prompting a smile from the elemental, "Good. I'm starting to get hungry."
The catgirl was about to say something but then is interrupted by the mushroom witch in the kitchen, "Foods ready! Come and get it!"
"Speak of the devil." Salene chuckles at this and the two get off the couch, heading towards the kitchen to see all of the food set up for the three of them. The fire elemental raises a brow at this.
"Didn't you say that Pepper was coming?" She asked.
"Yeah she is." Star said, pouring herself a glass of milk, "She's just bringing up the desserts and such. Moon told me that the snow is delaying her more than she thought." Star gestures to the beetle, which is now covered in a little blanket. "So she said to eat without her and she should be here by the time we're done and then some."
While the elemental was still confused at this eventually Salene shrugs and takes a seat at the end of the table. Looking at what's there and the plate in front of her she gets started picking stuff for herself. Kepler chuckles at this before picking some things for herself. "Someone's hungry."
"Hey its cold out there and I need fuel to keep my fire going."
The catgirl waves it off, "Just thought it was funny that's all. No harm done." She glances over at the other witch, "So in a bit Pepper will be here you said?"
Star hums, already putting the fork with food in her mouth. Kepler on the other hand speaks even with the mashed potatoes in her mouth, "Yep. Word of advice, don't stare for too long when you meet her. You'll know why."
This only makes Kepler laugh once she sees that her explanation did nothing to actually explain anything. If Star wasn't going to mention anything about Pepper, then she has the right to be vague about it. Besides a part of her was curious what her friends' reaction would be to the sheep girl.
Nonetheless the three simply have a good time with their meals, making small talk about what each of them have been up to and for better or for worse, the catgirl making mention about Star's recent 'hip' escapade. After a swat from the short witch the meal if done, with plenty of leftovers to spare. With it all on the table still, Star was about to do more dishes when a loud knock was heard throughout the house.
"That must be her. Kepler, mind doing the dishes?" She asks as she hands the wash cloth over to the catgirl, "I need to see how Pepper's doing and if she needs help with anything."
Leaving the kitchen to Kepler Star walks over to the door, opening it up to see a crouching Pepper in front of the door. "Pepper! So good to see you! Your wool is looking really thick tonight I noticed."
The sheep laughs as she pokes the wool on her arms, "Yeah winter season is like that for me. Not nearly as bad as the Lincoln kind though. Theirs get really long while mine is just puffy." With a smile Pepper looks inside the house, letting out a gasp, "Oh it looks so wonderful inside! Really a shame though given what happened last time."
The witch laughs at this. Turns out trying to shove a 15'9 woman through a single door is not worth the trouble. "Yeah... We won't make the same mistake again. If your carriage just outside?"
"Yep!" Pepper stands up and moves over, showing her giant wooden home sitting outside, "And everything is inside as well. And you said Kepler's friend is here right? The elemental?"
Star nods, and she taps her hooves together, "Excellent! Well tell everyone that I'm here but we'll have to move over to my place ok?"
Before Star could respond Kepler speaks up, "We heard ya! Just need to do the dishes!"
Pepper smiles and bends down one final time to the doorway, "I'll see you in a moment then! Just need to finish something up in my home before you come in. It's just about ready so I hope everyone likes it!"
"Great!" Star exclaims, "We'll be there shortly."
Pepper nods and leans upwards before heading to her carriage. From there Star closes the door and heads towards the kitchen, where Kepler is about finished with the dishes with Salene drying them. the cat witch speaks first as Star walks in, "Yeah good thing you didn't try shoving her in again. That wasn't great. But I am curious what she brought over this time."
Salene is still confused however, tossing the drying towel onto the counter, "So what's the story with Pepper? Is there a reason that she can't come in? I would've helped if there was a lot to carry."
Kepler waves her off, "It's not that its more so how Pepper is like 15 feet tall and can't fit in anywhere."
"15 and 9 inches." Star corrects the elemental. "Yeah trying to get her inside wasn't fun, even when we eventually used ways to shrink her in. Due to her size for the most part it has a reduced effect on Pepper, meaning that she was back to her normal size in no time and had to crawl." She sees the gobsmacked expression still present on the elementals' face. "She's really nice once you get to know her."
"If you're sure..."
Kepler, now done with the dishes gets ready to dress a little bit warmer despite the short distance. "What is that Salene admitting defeat? Certainly didn't see you cowering away during Halloween and I was a 7 foot tall bat woman."
Reminder of that moment makes Salene snap out of it and chuckle, "Yeah that's true. Even if I did make up that bat friend it was still fun meeting you."
Kepler laughs at that moment long ago as she walks to the door. "Well in any case we might not be in there for too long. Just enough time to hangout with Pepper and then watch something together. Sound good to you?"
Salene nods, putting on her winter jacket on. Once it was on and the other witches were dressed up they open the door into the dark snowy front yard. With the gargantuan carriage sitting out front, they moved towards it and Star climbed up the steps to bang on the wooden door. After a moment Pepper opens it, looking down at the short people in front of her and allowing Salene to be wide-eyed at how tall this sheep woman actually is.
"Man you weren't kidding about her height..."
Pepper giggles at this and waves the three in, and Salene only became more baffled as she sees the inside of the carriage. For Kepler and Star they know that everything is sized to her. The elemental on the other hand is astonished that someone could even build something like this in the first place. She was so engrossed in the sight that she didn't even notice that she bumped into Pepper's thick wooly leg. "Omf. Sorry about that. Just- Not used to seeing a place like this, not often anyway."
The sheep doesn't mind however, even letting out a bit of laughter at the apology, "No worries. It happens all the time. And yeah more of my height is not a common sight so I don't blame you. In any case-" Clacking her hooved hands together Pepper heads towards the kitchen and pulls out some ice cream. "I got ice cream here if anyone wants it. Feel free to have whatever you three like!"
Gesturing to the large living room table Pepper places the ice cream on the counter and gets some bowls ready. Meanwhile Star and Kepler are mostly used to the oversized furniture and thus can climb onto the couch easily enough. Salene on the other hand needed a hand getting up onto the couch, which the two were more than willing to oblige by this as they helped lift the elemental onto the large couch before resting on the cushion.
"Yeah..." Kepler says, catching her breath, "Not the easiest thing to get up on, but the comfort is worth it once you get up here. Like a mini bed on its own."
Salene can only nod at this. She can kind of see what the catgirl means when she says that. Before she could comment on it Pepper is out in the living room in a surprising rush. In her hands was not bowls of ice cream but rather a pie looking thing about the size of a large hiking backpack. The stuff covering it looked goopy and not at all appetizing, like it was whipped almost with its consistency of marshmallows.
"Pepper what is this?" Star asks. "It's not like you to skip out on cooking something entirely."
The sheep girl places it on the coffee table and wipes off her brow, "You aren't wrong there Star. But I wanted to surprise you with something I heard about in one of the other regions. They call it an Omelet Surprise. It's supposedly really good but delicate to make. What that stuff on top is whipped egg whites with sugar in it and coated over ice cream and cake."
The two witches and elemental look amazed by such an idea. Star notes something however, looking up at Pepper, "But you needed to cook it right?"
The giant hums before letting out a weak chuckle, "I... May have forgotten that I had cookies already in the oven, so I can't toss it in. Not enough space. And in my rush I couldn't find anything that could help and-"
Pepper lets out a sigh, "Really wanted to show this off to you, especially since it seemed like a thing neither of you have ever seen before."
Star pats Pepper's hand to reassure her, "I'm sure we can do it next time. But maybe you can scrape the egg whites off and we can have the ice cream and cake underneath it?"
As Pepper slowly nods Salene looks at the cake like thing on the table. All it needs is to be cooked right? Standing up on the couch she hops onto the table where the cake thing is. "It just needs to be cooked right?"
"Um, specifically browned. Why do you ask?"
In response to this Salene's hair lights up into flames, and her hands become engulfed in fire. "Wanna give it a shot. It'll take a lot out of me so I need to concentrate."
After focusing the fire on her hands, she steps up towards the omelet, placing her engulfed hands close to the surface of the egg whites. Almost immediately it starts browning, making the fire elemental slowly move around the hiking bag sized dessert and watching it brown more as a result. Salene can feel herself tiring out but she thinks its about done, only needing to do the top part. When she gets assistance from Pepper by the way of lifting her up a tad, Salene finishes browning the cake and gets set down and lets out a few pants of exhaustion. "Heh... There you go Pepper... All done for you... Oy I need to lay down for a second-"
Salene collapses in Pepper's hands, who gently carries her to the couch and places her there. Looking at the dessert it looked all great with its browned covering. She smiles at this and heads over to the kitchen and comes back with some small (to her anyway) plates as well as a knife. "Well then. Thanks to your friend, the Omelet Surprise is ready to be served!"
Giving each of the three a plate Pepper cuts the dessert up, showing that despite the heat that Salene placed around it the ice cream inside was untouched. Kepler whistles at seeing this, "That's pretty cool I'll say that much. Here's to it tasting as good as it looks."
Picking up her spoon she takes the first bite of the dessert. Kepler lets out a happy hum as she finishes the bite. "Oh this was worth it. Congrats on making it Pepper. Oh and thank you Salene for browning it."
The elemental gives her a thumbs up before pushing herself up more against the couch. She takes her plate and she too takes a bite. "A bit cold for my liking but I do think it tastes great. What kind of ice cream is it?"
"Eggnog ice cream!"
Salene hums at this before taking another bite. Star soon gets into it as well, giving the giant sheep her own sounds of appreciation. Happy with that Pepper leaves for a brief moment before returning with some snowman shaped cookies, "The others are still in the oven but I got a few of these to go with that if you want."
"Oh sure thanks." Star takes a cookie and puts it on her plate and before long she remembers what she has in her home, "Oh yeah I made you a chocolate log if you want it. Figured I could give baking a shot."
"Oh how sweet of you to do that Star! I'll take it whenever you are able to!"
Star hums, eating another bite of her omelet. The others do the same, with Salene being slower than everyone else due to the amount of energy she used to brown the dessert. However despite that everyone is having a good time and enjoying the warm interior of the carriage with some ice cream, cake, and cookies. All while the snow gently falls outside.
It was just another morning for Star. She opens her eyes, seeing the clear sky out her window. The mushroom witch still feels good at getting a place where both her and her friend can sleep without the bright sun forcing them awake in the mornings. Letting out a groan Star sits up on her bed and stretches before getting up. As much as Star would like to get properly dressed, she just isn't feeling up for it. Deciding to only put on her hat and leaving her sleepwear be the mushroom witch leaves her room.
Near immediately there was something amiss. Normally the sun would shine through the window, shining onto the couch. Kepler wasn't awake yet but that wasn't it either. Only when she rubs the sleep out of her eyes and moves her hair out of the way does she properly see what is right outside their home.
"What in the…" Stepping closer to the front window Star could see a wall in the way. Though it appeared to be made of wood from what she can see? Regardless whatever was in front of the cottage, it was making shade for the entire house, no light able to shine in at all. With this rather concerning issue Star shuffles towards Kepler's door, giving it a few knocks. "Kepler. Kepler wake up. It's urgent."
There was not a single sound from the other side. Letting out a groan the mushroom witch opens the door, seeing her friend still in bed. In a still messy room. She glances over at the scratching post in the room, seeing the catgirls' mouse familiar poke his head out to see what was going on. Giving the mouse a little wave Star walks up to the side of the bed. "Kepler wake up. I need you to see something. Come on."
Kepler moans and turns her body the other way. Letting out a sharp breath of air Star rips the blanket off of the catgirl, seeing her in her underwear. Normally Star would be annoyed at this but at the moment the structure in front of their house blocking the light is more important than the catgirl wearing less clothing to bed. "Get up Kep. Need you now."
Kepler groans at this, turning her head towards Star. "Let me sleeeeep…"
Star groans, "Kepler there's something outside our house. It's-" She stops herself before getting an idea. "It's covering your spot on the couch. And before you say its a cloud, it appears to be a wall of some sort."
There was silence from the catgirl before making herself get up from her bed. "If you think its that bad, then I'll get up… Probably just overreacting…"
It was enough for the mushroom witch. With her friend now out of the bed, albeit still sleepy, Star leaves her room and walks towards the window where the wall still stands. It doesn't take long to hear Kepler behind her, claws on her feet clinking against the tile floor. She stands next to Star, now staring at the wall in front of their house.
"…Huh. Yeah that's no cloud."
Star nods at the obvious. "We should check out what it is. Hopefully we can get it out of the way."
With both witches in agreement they round the wall to the hall before leaving through the front door. Stepping outside they see that this wall extends much further across that they both thought. Star is probably off but it looks like its around 35 feet across. As for high it is-
Kepler hums, analyzing the wall. "Seems to be about 29 feet tall? Best guess though. Same with the length, around 35, maybe 37 feet. It's long whatever it is. Won't likely be able to move it with my magic, not with how much it would weigh."
It still surprises Star sometimes just how quick Kepler can think. Sure she was one of the smarter students back at university, but with how she acts you wouldn't think so. Regardless what Kepler said is accurate. With how large it is it isn't going to be moving very easily. Which begs another question, one that she says out loud.
"Would it be placed by someone then? Because you don't build a wall for no reason, especially in front of a house."
There wasn't an answer from Kepler at first, leaving Star to look at the 'wall' a bit longer. That's when she noticed something else; That being the set of windows further up. Understandably this confuses Star, though not before Kepler gives her a small nudge. When she was about to ask what that was for Kepler points down towards the ground where there is a large gap before drifting her finger towards one end of it, where there is a large, wide wheel on the other end.
"Is this…" Star says, getting close to solving this mystery.
"It's an oversized carriage. Why you would need one this big and not have like a convoy guarding it is beyond me."
Kepler was right about that. The fact that neither of them even heard it approach is already slightly concerning, even more so how there was no one even knocking at their door to saying anything about it. Either way the only way they are going to figure out why its here and who it even belongs to. Glancing at each other the two witches walk left of the carriage, seeing that it's the back end of it as they approach. Even with them going to the back end of the carriage, they see that it is also long there, though not as long as what they just walked by. Rounding that corner they now approach the front.
"What in the…"
Star was speechless compared to Kepler. From where she is standing though? This is not just a carriage. This is a house as well, with stairs leading up to a massive door. Star looks up, and sees a sign there as well, seemingly painted over what appears to be a dozen times. "Peppermint's Confectionery Delights! Sign is (still) a work in progress…"
She hears Kepler mumble beside her, "Well at least it isn't a convoy that was stolen or something…" The catgirl takes a breath, crossing her arms. "Still begs the question on why it's in front of our house and not in town. People don't come out this far."
Kepler was right about that. However she stops herself from thinking too much about it, looking to Kepler, "We can stand here and talk about this all morning but we need to start getting answers. We need to knock on the door and see who it is."
The catgirl nods at this, looking up at the tall carriage door. "Not wrong there." There was silence for the briefest moment. Though it was quickly broken by Kepler. "Not it."
"Not- Uuugh. Beat me to it…"
Kepler chuckles at this, patting her back. "Hey if anything goes wrong I'll be right behind you."
"How comforting…" Letting out some air Star takes the first few steps towards the door, making note of the large, spaced out stairs leading to the door. Pushing that question aside she takes big strides as she goes up one step at a time before standing in front of the door. She looks to Kepler behind her, who gives the witch a thumbs up. With that done Star looks up at the door and gives the door a few hard knocks.
There wasn't an answer at first, forcing Star to forcefully knock even harder on the door. "Hello? Anyone home?"
Kepler watches as Star groans at the door. Glancing around the front area the gravity witch takes another look around them, seeing if there was anything they missed. She hears a squeak downwards, and sees Jerry. "Not now Jerry. We can do something later." Jerry squeaks again, though when Kepler looks at him this time he is holding a ball of fluff. "It's nice and all but that's not- Wait a minute…"
Crouching down to get closer to it, the fluff that Jerry has with him is not fluff at all upon closer inspection. But rather, wool. 'There aren't any sheep around here. None that have wandered out here anyway.' Inspecting the wool she can see that it is dyed a different array of colours, though it is slightly faded. "Jerry where did you find this?"
The mouse squeaks, running off to the right. Kepler follows suit, thinking that Star can handle herself should anything happen. Jerry leads the way, squeaking as he goes until he stops and nudges his head towards a small bush, with another ball of wool attached to it. Giving it a poke, Kepler feels that the wool is still soft, like it was caught not too long ago. "Getting there. Now which way…"
Now that she isn't on the main path anymore, Kepler notices that the ground is slightly pressed in more than usual. Kneeling down to look at the tracks, she sees that they're really big. Bigger than her own feet. Glancing up Kepler follows the tracks, though she is stopped by the squeak of the mouse below. While she understood it to be 'stop' she wonders why before looking where he roughly is looking.
And there, about 12 feet away, is someone. With a large water basin, a washboard, and a pile of clothes next to them, the sheep person folding more and putting them onto the pile. What Kepler immediately notices is the large head of wool the person has, which matches up with the one that Jerry showed her earlier. Despite the mysterious new person, they might be her only lead. Walking towards them Kepler calls out to the person. "Hello? Hey sorry for interrupting you, I just need to ask you something."
The sheep person stops folding the clothes and looks over to where Kepler is. "Hello there! I will be with you in a second! I just need to fold this last shirt." She folds it, placing it on the pile. "There! All done!" They look at Kepler before waving her over, "Well come on then! I wanna meet you proper!"
While hesitant at the cheery nature of this stranger, Kepler walks towards them regardless. As she approaches though Kepler notices that this person is big. And she does mean big. Even just sitting down this sheep is like 6 feet tall. Apparently they notice her reaction, laughing as they do so. "Yeah people aren't used to seeing a massive sheep gal around here. Names Pepper!" The newly named Pepper extends a three hooved hand towards Kepler. Looking at the hand the catgirl shrugs and extends her own hand, clasping Pepper's.
"I'm Kepler." Taking her hand away the catgirl clears her throat, "So Pepper, my friend and I found something that looked like a carriage in front of our house? Is that yours or…?"
Pepper lets out a loud gasp, "Oh no did I leave my home in front of yours? I'm so sorry I was very tired from last night and I must've not realized that I parked it in front of someone's house! I'll be there in a second I just finished washing my clothes anyway."
With a single arm Pepper dumps the water basin out, grabbing the washboard with the other. She looks at her pile of clothes before sheepishly looking at Kepler, "I know we just met and all but could you help me out? I just need you to carry my clothes. It's relatively light so you should have no problem carrying it back to my wagon."
As much as Kepler did not want to do someone else's work, she wanted to be on this persons' good graces. Even crouched Pepper might be too much for her. "Yeah sure I can do that. Let me just-" Kepler goes to check her wrist when she came across an issue; She forgot her wand at home. Letting out a groan the catgirl crouches down and lifts the pile of clothes in her arms. Contrary to what Pepper said, they were not light. They were at least around middle weight. "I got em!"
"Great! I'll just grab the board and basin and then we will be good to go!" Kepler rolls her eyes, though they quickly widen once she sees Pepper actually stand up. This woman was massive compared to her!
'How tall even is she?!'
"15 feet tall! If I have any other inches I'll be sure to tell you once I remember!"
Kepler jolts at the declaration from the tall sheep person. She must've unintentionally said that out loud. Pepper lifts up the empty basin and washboard before walking on ahead, Kepler following shortly behind her. As much as she can do, given how large the strides of the sheep were. Despite this Kepler manages to keep up, even if it seemed like Pepper was slowing down every now and then. There was also another issue, though this was more of a Kepler specific one.
The height of Pepper's folded clothes were not high enough to hide Kepler from looking at the large ass that Pepper was swinging around back there. She tries to keep her eyes away though it is hard when said butt of the person in front of you is practically eye level.
"I can feel you staring you know."
Kepler sputters at this, "N-No I'm not!"
Pepper chuckles, turning her head to the side and giving the catgirl a sly smile, "Don't worry about it. It's just us walking together. Besides you certainly aren't the first to stare at my ass, and you won't be the last either." Despite the fact that both of Pepper's eyes are closed, Kepler feels like the sheep girl is winking at her, prompting some heat on her face as Pepper looks away. Kepler averts her eyes from the taller sheep's lower half, though it is still difficult.
Fortunately for Kepler the large sheep slows down until she is walking beside her. Looking ahead she sees the carriage still in place and in front of their house, with Star sulking on the steps. Pepper leans down towards the catgirl, "She a friend of yours?"
"Yeah. That's Star, my roommate. Probably isn't going to be too happy just leaving her behind."
Pepper chuckles at that before the two take steps towards the carriage. Kepler sees Star glance this way, getting up from the stairs and stomping towards the catgirl. "Kepler! Where were you, I have been knocking at this door forever! And when I turn around to ask for advice you disappeared! So why did you have to leave? And who's clothes are those?"
Kepler can tell that Star is very much focused on her. And because of that she doesn't immediately notice the 15 foot tall sheep person standing practically next to her. The catgirl rubs her neck, "Well Jerry found something interesting. He lead the way and eventually I met someone. She asked me to carry these back and she would help move the carriage since it is hers." She points a thumb behind her, "Star, meet Pepper."
The gravity witch can see confusion on her face despite most of the hair in the way before taking a singular glance to the right. Once she sees Pepper Star takes a step back in shock, "Whoa! Who- She's so-" Star smacks herself before pointing a finger up at the very large sheep girl, "She's huge!"
"Hello there!" Said huge sheep says, waving down at her, "My name is Pepper! Kepler told me that your names Star! It's a nice name! Oop-" Pepper readjusts the basin in her arm, taking a step past Kepler. "Pardon me, I just need to put this away. I'll move my home in a second alright?"
Kepler gives her a thumbs up and Pepper takes a step past Star, who is still in shock over seeing someone so huge. Once Pepper opens the door and leaves the two outside does the mushroom witch get her bearings. "I- Eh- Wha- Explain Kepler!"
Kepler laughs at Star's reaction, giving her a pat on the shoulder. "Yeah I was the same way when I saw her. And she was sitting down at the time. You're so tiny standing next to her!"
"Don't remind me!"
Star groans, rubbing her face before looking at the door to the carriage. "So what's her story? Any reason why she decided to leave that thing in front of our house?"
The catgirl nods at this, "She was very tired last night. So tired that she didn't realize that she parked her carriage in front of our place."
The other witch looks at her with a flat look before taking a breath, "So it was purely an accident… And she said she would move it?"
"Correct. Speaking of which-" With the clothes still in her arms Kepler steps up towards the door and gives it a hard knock, "Pepper you forgot your clothes out here!"
In a flash the door opens and Pepper crouches down to snag the clothes off of Kepler, "Thank you!" Before Pepper could close the door she looks at the two witches outside. "Well you know what? I don't wanna keep potential guests outside waiting for me! Come in, come in! I promise I will have my home moved soon."
Pepper clears the doorway, the sounds of walking and drawers being opened. Kepler looks back at Star for an opinion before seeing the witch come closer to the door. "She invited us in…"
Not seeing the fault in that logic the two witches enter the carriage, and are blasted by the smell of pastries and sweets emitted in the carriage. And if that wasn't enough much like Pepper herself the interior was also very big. The table was sized to her, the fridge, everything. Looking down one end of the large place Kepler can see a massive bed, sized to the very owner herself. Mystified as they are Pepper thumps behind them, "Welcome to my home! Everything about it has been sized to me, and let me tell you it did not come cheap! But it's worth it. But anyways take a seat! And if you need help getting up just let me know."
Pepper strolls away to her bedroom, allowing Star and Kepler to take her up on that request. Of course, being Kepler, opts to find the closest couch. Once she sees the couch she stands there in awe of it. "It's like the size of my bed…"
Wasting no time at all she climbs up onto the oversized couch, taking a rest on it. "Bit big for my liking, but it's comfortable enough." Seeing her friend down there Kepler extends a hand out to her friend, who takes it. With both of them on the couch they attempt to get used to their surroundings before Pepper thumps down on the cushion beside them, flinging them slightly in the air.
"Sorry about that. Don't know my own strength sometimes!" The sheep girl laughs before calming down. "So tell me about yourselves? Last thing I'll ask of you before I move. I need to get going anyway soon."
"Oh?" Star questions, "Where are you off to?"
"The closest town of course. Despite my large size I only have but one passion. And that iiiiisss-" Pepper opens a drawer, bringing out a relatively large sized candy. "Candy making! It's a fun little thing I do, and I also sell it whenever I can. I would've headed there but I couldn't remember the direction. Plus well-" She gestures to herself, "They probably have an exclusive 'use local inns policy' in place. Which is a bit of a problem, given my size."
Making herself comfortable on the couch, Kepler raises a hand at this, "Yeah question about that. Why are you so big anyway?"
"No clue!"
Kepler felt like she was about to choke on her own spit, and she has a feeling Star nearly did as well, "You mean you don't know how you got this way?"
"Nope! All I know is that it's all natural, size and everything. So yes-" Pepper shuffles in place, lowering her chest towards the two witches with a grin, "These boobs of mine are in fact real. Besides, Kepler already stared at my ass as we were walking back, figured I would rip the band aid off now."
Kepler tries to shrink her head into her shoulders in embarrassment as Star looks at her, looking at her with shame. Not that its easy for said friend to not look at her massive chest either. The catgirl is likely spitballing here, but one of those mounds are probably half of Star's size. Eventually they both snap out of it and try to get the heat off of their faces.
"Anyways," Star says, trying to forget that she heard that to no avail, "ignoring that aspect about yourself, you sell candy?"
If it was somehow possible despite the giants' eyes being closed, they shined with stars as Pepper lets out a gasp. "Yes I do sell it! Make it myself too. Most of my kitchen has things dedicated to making various sweets, though because they are also sized to me-" Pepper lets out a small chuckle and scratches her cheek in embarrassment, "I tend to have a lot of extras. And the bulk prices are murder on my bag so I only try and restock when its cheap to do so. But that doesn't mean I'm poor or anything, I just end up breaking even. Eventually."
Before either witch could comment on that Pepper leans back against the couch and side-eyes the two, "So how about you two? You guys do anything interesting?"
Star speaks up before Kepler could, "Well for the most part I try and cover things around the house. I grow my own mushrooms to sell in town. Could be for cooking, alchemical, whatever people need them for. It pays for the food at least."
"Yeah, mostly just for the food and things that we need." Kepler says. "Sometimes we use magic to get things done as well but out of the two of us Star is the hard worker. Me on the other hand?" The catgirl lays down on her back on the cushion of the couch, "I'm moral support."
Star chuckles, rolling her eyes at this. "Freeloader is more like it. Still, without her being out here would be lonely. Got this place and moved in together after university. And haven't been really apart since."
Pepper lets out a small 'ooh' at what Star says. "So you two are a couple then. Lovers?"
This question sends both of them into a fierce frenzy of words and embarrassed heat, "What- No- Her and me? No way! We're just friends yeah, hmm hm!"
The sheep girl laughs at the display before catching her breath, "Just friends. Got it."
The witches settle down before looking away from each other, red on their faces. It was awkward for the two witches, though Pepper decides to give them some slack. "Hey wanna know something cool about my home?"
Star clears her throat, looking up at Pepper, "A-And what would that be?"
"Well-" Pepper gets up from the couch, causing the two witches to sink into the couch cushion as a result. Even as Pepper grabbed something from the counter she immediately sat back down, shooting them into the air once more before landing with a thud. Nonetheless the giant sheep continues, showing a large piece of paper with a symbol on it. "These runes are everywhere on my home. And to sum it up because I couldn't pay very close attention to it, they reinforce my carriage and make it lighter in places."
"Why the reinforcement?" Kepler asks.
Pepper chuckles, gesturing to herself. "Let's just say that I am very heavy, and if I were to ride most other land based vehicles I would likely crush them without meaning to. I'm already pushing it with some ships to put it lightly."
While the answer was vague for both witches involved, it sounded believable, given that Pepper by her own admission was 15 feet tall and being that big would make someone weigh a lot as well. It's interesting to say the least, though it does makes Kepler wonder if it is a good idea to continue staying on the couch in case something happens. Her thought process was interrupted by said giant sheep girl gasping.
"Oh no! I need to get to town soon! I'm burning daylight!" Pepper quickly gets off the couch, rushing over to her closet. The two witches watch as clothes start flying out of it until they hear the giant say 'aha', pulling out an apron that by all accounts to the two, was both very large in comparison to them, but somehow too small for the sheep girl herself.
"Oh really?" The mushroom witch asks, Kepler noticing the disappointed look on her face, "I was actually having a good time here."
Pepper walks by, checking her fridge before closing it, "Awww thanks sweetie. Alas, customers don't walk all the way here to buy stuff you know! So I need to get going."
They both nod at this, the logic making sense. Kepler speaks up as Pepper checks her home some more, "Well we'll be out of your… Wool I guess. It was nice to meet you, despite the circumstances."
As both witches hop off the couch, Pepper stomps a foot down near her door. "Hold it! I'm not letting you go out now!" She looks at them with a close-eye glare before she beams, "Not without having a free complimentary sweet, made by yours truly!" Pepper walks to her counter, grabbing something off the counter before crouching down, "Take on! As both as thanks for keeping me company and as an apology for parking in front of your home. I got all different kinds, so pick whichever!"
Star and Kepler were taken off-guard by the offer before looking over at the options. There was chocolate, gummies, licorice rods, all sorts. Though sweets weren't a priority for them they couldn't just refuse. So with some quick thinking Kepler takes the bucket-sized container of marshmallow fluff, while Star decides on the salted caramels. Even if said caramels were the size of a small rock. Pepper looks sheepish as they pick those.
"Sorry about that. If I had time I would've placed them into smaller containers. I already got some little to sell things in my inventory if you prefer that?"
Kepler shakes her head, holding the container of marshmallow fluff, "No this is fine. If this stays fresh for a while then we might be able to use it in time. And Star I don't think minds the caramels either. Just means that it'll last for a long time."
Pepper gives them a smile before placing her product back, opening the door for them. "Step out now, I need to get moving."
As the three step out of the carriage Star turns to the sheep girl, "And how do you move your home exactly?"
"Like so!"
Pepper makes her way over to the front of the carriage, where the two witches are in disbelief at what they see there, as the giant hops onto a contraption that looks strangely like a bicycle front. If it was really big, really thick, and could support both Pepper and the carriage. Eventually Kepler lets out a chuckle as she looks at the thing. "No way! You pedal your home around? That's actually somewhat impressive." She looks over at Star, "Man we are both blind if we didn't even see that when we came out earlier."
Pepper nods, proud of her bike device. "It took a hefty amount of time but when your my size and you wanna travel you gotta think smart. No way I would be able to fit in an inn and there's no way I would be able to do much of anything with your small necessities. So I had this made. Anyways-"
Pepper hops on the bike, placing her hooves onto the pedals, "I gotta run. Got a whole town to sell this to. Thanks for everything though. Maybe we'll meet again under different circumstances. Have a nice day! Enjoy yourselves!"
The two watch the giant sheep move her legs, making the wheels move on the carriage. As Pepper moves the carriage out from the front of the house Kepler gives her a wave. "Maybe we'll see you again soon!"
Pepper laughs, blowing her a kiss, much to both of their embarrassment, "Here's hoping! It was nice seeing you! And if you are for some reason further interested-" She gives them a beaming smile, making a peace sign, "Come over to town! I'll be there for a few days before I head off somewhere else. Until then wish you two the best!"
Star and Kepler wave goodbye to the giant sheep girl, watching as she rides onto the road they use and starts moving further and further away from them and towards town. Once she was far enough away Star lets out some air, and looks up to Kepler. "I know its still the morning and whatnot, but-" She holds her four rock-sized salted caramel candies in her arms, "I'm sort of curious about these. How about you, you wanna try out your marshmallow fluff?"
Kepler looks down at it before nodding. "Yeah I could go for a try. Maybe we do some baking as well just to use it."
"Sounds like a plan!"
The two smile at each other as they enter their home, now thankfully no longer blocked off by a giant carriage. Whether or not they will see Pepper again remains to be seen, though like she said, she will be in town for a few days. So plenty of time until then to think. For now though, they have their own personal candies to try out.

Star hums as she strolls through the forest behind her home. While she does have a garden back at the house, sometimes she grows others out in the forest, where if she needed to she can make either new mushrooms or attempt to replicate some hybrid experiments that she found in her garden. Even if this does in fact snowball into even more hybrids being grown. Sometimes that is needed however.
Keeping up her pace, Star soon walks towards a small shady clearing, where there are many mushrooms of all shapes and colours are growing, all under the shade of the trees. A small smile forms at this as she approaches one of the trees, placing her staff into the ground and kneeling towards the batch of mushrooms. Humming to herself Star plucks some of the mushrooms there before moving on to the next, plucking some of the dirt coated mushrooms there into her bag. On the third tree though as she is digging the mushrooms out, one of them, half buried in the dirt, catches her eye.
Wondering what this one could be the witch brushes the dirt off of it, revealing a dull red mushroom with black dots on it. In awe of this new specimen Star pulls it out of the ground, showing that its cap, while pretty big, the rest of it is on the small side.
'Not that it doesn't happen.' Star thinks, 'Just means I get to find out what this new one does! And whether or not it's worth keeping. Don't want any duds after all.'
Placing it in her bag Star takes one last look around the clearing. After some thought the witch decides to picking another day. She already has quite a bit back at home and she wanted to figure out what this new mushroom did. Standing up and grabbing her staff, Star makes her way out of the forest with bag in tow. About part way through however she glanced over at her bag, seeing the dull mushroom sitting on top of all the others. And for some reason, it felt like it was calling to her, almost wanting her to do... Something to it.
"Weeell..." Star thinks about it for a moment. On one hand this should be studied and with careful research. On the other hand however, "Sometimes you just need to do it yourself. Moon isn't here right now so I certainly can't test it on them..."
Lamenting the lack of pet beetle aside, the witch pulls out the red mushroom, inspecting it in full. "What could you have been hybridized with to get such a colour... Touching it isn't poisonous so that's one check off the list. Mushrooms don't really have a 'smell' so I don't need to do that... Which means one last thing."
Giving it one last look over, Star keeps it in hand as she exits out of the forest, the sun shining through a gap between her bangs as she sees her home a short distance away. With home so close Star holds the mushroom up to her face and decides to do the ultimate test:
The taste test. And if it has any magical effects, make note of them. With plan all set Star brings the mushroom to her mouth, and takes a small bite out of it.
"Ooo... Surprisingly soft. Taste is good so far." Swallowing it she takes another bite, feeling something in her mouth, "Interesting... Gelatinous in parts... Could be usable for cooking with a bit of flavouring."
As the mushroom witch mumbles to herself about the properties of the mushroom, a faint feeling goes down towards her lower body before fading away. Star doesn't notice it, picking at the mushroom a bit more with a finger and feeling more of the jelly inside.
"Fascinating. Maybe this gelatin is what will allow more of its kind to grow? Be sure to save some just in case." Going into her bag she pulls out a small vial. With the vial she scoops some of the gelatin into it before sealing it. "With that I can see if I can use my magic to speed up the growth of it a little. And if it isn't, then I always got the rest of it. Speaking of which..."
Looking at the dull red mushroom, Star sees some of the gelatin ooze out more, likely from other parts of its cap. And despite the jelly-like substance not really tasting like much, she does want just a bit more. Maybe there's more to it then what she's observed? Regardless Star brings the mushroom close to her lips, sucking out some of the gelatin out from it. Wiping her mouth on her sleeve she looks at drained mushroom.
"Yeah I think that's good for now. Still need to see what makes it tick after all!" Just as she was about to put the mushroom back into her bag, the witch felt something down on her lower body. And it was strong. There was a worry that she might've actually consumed poisonous jelly as the feeling grew stronger.
Bwoomf!
Almost immediately she wished it was poison as her hips near instantly grew wider than her entire body with the hems of her overalls straining against her now massive lower body. The suddenness of her lower body expanding nearly bowled her over, but the force of her hips and thighs ballooning outwards pushes her staff out of her hand. The shock of the expansion makes her let go of the mushroom in her hand, bouncing against her large thigh before landing on the ground. Once the shock fades from her mind Star looks down at her body, irritation forming on her face.
"Fucking- Uuuuugh! Really should've just not have ate more of the jelly... Least it might've been not as bad as it is now..." Letting out a sigh, Star looks at the mushroom on the ground with a glare, "I dislike you immensely right now I hope you know that."
Due to the mushroom being a fungus, it did not say anything to the witch. But the silence was enough for her. Grumbling at what she had to do next, Star bends over, feeling the overalls strain as her legs move before picking up the mushroom and putting it back into her bag. Grabbing her fallen staff as well, Star stands back up, placing a hand on her thighs, feeling them over. "Jeez did these have to grow so big?" She gives them a quick squeeze, confirming to her that is in fact all natural thigh flesh.
“And they’re real too. Great.”
Letting out some air, Star takes a step, and realizes that moving is going to be a problem. Nonetheless she pushes forward, reaching the door. Immediately Star sees a problem. The problem being that her thighs and hips are so wide that she physically cannot fit through the door. While the witch thinks that she might be able to go through if she went sideways, Star is still going to need help. And there is only one person who would be still at home.
"Kepler... Of all the people to see me like this..." With a resigned sigh, Star knocks on the door, hoping that the noise will stir up from whatever nap the catgirl is having. "Kep! I need some help out here! It's... Important!"
When she doesn't hear anything inside Star is tempted to bang even harder, when the door opens, showing a half-eyed catgirl.
"Come on Star, I was doing something. This better be-"
It was here that Star realized something else. Due to her annoyance she didn't realize that the doorway was closer to her head. But with Kepler in front of her? About four whole inches taller than her. And Kepler notices fast about Star's condition, aka the doorwide hips her friend is now sporting.
"Whoa... Looking snirk hip there Star!"
"Not now Kepler..." Star grumbles, "I just need your help getting inside the house. I can't fit as I am now so I would greatly appreciate it if you could knock off the hip jokes."
The other witch snickers before patting one of the massive thighs, watching ripples form as she does so. "Jeez, these things are as jiggly as jelly. Maybe this isn't so bad actually. Get to be comfy wherever you are with thighs like those!"
Star feels her eye twitch, looking down at her friend. "If you don't help me in the next five seconds I will sit on you. See how you like it then."
The catgirl lets out one last chuckle before forming her wand, "Alright I'll help. Just get stand somewhere and I'll try to push you in."
Moving out of the way of her friend, Kepler flicks her wand out to point it at Star, "Ok, you are going to try to enter in from the side. I'll use gravity to make the entry a little bit easier."
Annoyed that this was the best plan and likely only plan considering her body, Star turns to the side, where Kepler gets herself prepared. "You ready Star?"
"Unfortunately yes."
"Then start moving into the house!"
Star side shuffles towards the door, and before long the mushroom witch feels an invisible force pushing against her leg, a sign that Kepler is using her magic on her. Star manages get a leg through the door with her assistance and is about halfway through the door. "Ok, I'm halfway in! Keep it up Kep!"
While she cannot hear her friend, she feels the force against her get stronger, and before long both halves of the wide witch are through the door and into the house.
"Yes! Great job Kepler!" Star pumps her fist, turning around to greet her friend before feeling her hips slightly stick to the walls. "Ok note to self: Be aware of walls. Might get stuck that way."
With the mental note out of the way she looks down as the catgirl walks inside the house, looking a little bit drained. "Thanks Kepler. I appreciate it. Really."
"Heh... Not a problem. It was a bit tricky but at least it was easier than I thought."
Star raises an eyebrow at this, "How come?"
The other witch looks up with a smirk on her face, "Because if you had what Salene calls 'cake' of someone your size then things would've been very different."
After Kepler says this Star's face turns to stone. "You know Kep, I might just reconsider letting you go for that remark."
Kepler keeps chuckling, thinking that Star wouldn't actually sit on her. But when she looks up and sees the indifference on her friends' face she pauses. "M-Maybe don't? For me?"
Star keeps the look on her before loosening it. "Fine I won't. Still need for this to wear off anyway..."
As Kepler lets out a sigh of relief that Star didn't go through with it, the mushroom witch turns around and heads further into the house, the catgirl following shortly after. Star can only hope that this mushroom wears off soon, if only to stop the onslaught of bad jokes from Kepler.
(You are in fact doing it correctly. Also sorry for posting this so late! Busy with the things and all.)
8 (centimeters)
Sometimes Kepler should learn to stay out of Star's stuff. Or rather, she could stop trying to steal catnip despite knowing that the mushroom witch would in fact have it guarded by something. If it isn't her beetle then it's likely some mushroom-based defense system.
Which brings Kepler to her current situation. That is, her size now being only 8 centimeters tall and currently inside the house, on the couch, and Star is nowhere to be seen.
"Hm. Well. I got two choices." She taps the couch cushion with one of her claws, "Either I stay on the couch and eventually Star will see me. Or I go on the floor and I can look for her that way." Kepler hums as she weighs the two options before laying back down on her back, arms behind her head. "Naaah I'll just stay here. My little legs can't look for Star like this, easier to stay put."
'Plus its not like Star couldn't see me anyway. 8 centimeters is still big enough to be seen.' Now content with her 'plan', Kepler lets out a sigh as she relaxes on the now much larger couch, waiting for her friend.
Fortunately for the catgirl she doesn't have to wait long, as she hears her friend walk down the hallway, heading towards the couch. Kepler smiles at this. Maybe she can go back to normal faster than she thought. Especially since the large shadow of her friend was blocking the light. When she looks up however, she doesn't see Star looking down at her.
Instead she sees Star's now gigantic ass coming down towards her.
"Wait no!"
Kepler scrambles out of the way before Star could come down on her. Luckily for the cat, she manages to get out of the way before Star could squish her. Grumbling at this Kepler has half a mind to start climbing up her robe and yell into her ear. Taking a deep breath Kepler gets her bearings together and decides to climb up Star, if only to get her attention.
Extending her claws Kepler latches onto the side of the robe and starts climbing. It was a hard climb but she feels like she can make it. However when she looks down, the catgirl sees Star's hands undue the knot, sliding the robe off of her body.
'No no no! Don't take it off Star!' Kepler mentally panics as he friend slides the robe off her body and throws it to the floor, the catgirl along with it.
Grumbling at this Kepler crawls out of the discarded robe, looking up to see Star wearing nothing but her underwear. The sight almost amuses the cat, if only because she thinks that the witch is finally learning from the master of relaxation. However her amusement is slightly dampened by the fact that she was tossed to the floor before she could make it up any higher.
"Guess I need to do even more climbing... Fun."
As Kepler steps towards the witch, she approaches her friends' foot. With no other way up Kepler starts climbing on the foot and hoping that Star doesn't move much as she shimmies up the leg.
Kepler finally catches a break when she sees Star look down at her leg, "Kepler? Is that you?" Star's face turns beet red as she realizes that she is barely wearing anything, lets out a yelp, shooting her foot up and launching Kepler into the air.
The catgirl yells as she is falling towards Star before landing squarely in-between the witches thighs, further embarrassing the mushroom witch. "W-What are you doing!?" Muffled by the thighs, Kepler gets herself out before looking up at Star excitedly.
"Oh thank you! Finally I got your attention!"
Star analyzes the small catgirl before looking at her with amusement, "Seems that my defense system worked. Tried to get into the catnip now did you?"
Kepler side-eyes the edge of the leg, wondering if she could get away before getting chewed out by her friend. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted when Star opens up her legs, making the catgirl fall in-between the legs and onto the cushion below before quickly being closed back up again.
"Then consider this your punishment for trying to get into the catnip again." Kepler can hear the ego in her voice as she says that, "Get comfy, because that mushroom won't wear off for another two hours."
The catgirls' eyes widen at this before letting out a sigh. Kepler got caught so now she has to bare with it. 'Least its warm here...'
It was a quiet evening in the house outside of town. Which under normal circumstances would mean a nice, quiet night of relaxation and general calm vibes. This night however a certain catgirl managed to convince her friend to go out tonight to the tavern for a night out together.
"It won't be that bad Star." Kepler says, putting on a sweater, "It'll be just the two of us girls hanging out."
Her companion on the other hand blows some air as she says this, "And that's why I don't want to go. What was wrong with what we did before?"
"Nothing was wrong Star. I just wanted to mix it up a little bit." Kepler playfully nudges the shorter witch with her elbow. "So that's why we're going into town for a bit. And come on, you have to admit." Kepler starts putting on some shoes, her ears flicking absentmindedly a little, "You are just more surprised that I was the one who suggested this idea in the first place."
Seeing her friends' surprised face tells Kepler all she needed to know. Chuckling at this the gravity cat smiles and turns around, her tail brushing up against Star's hair. "Just trust me on this ok? I'm sure you wanted to give something else a shot? We can do what you like to do next time ok?"
"...Ok. I will try to enjoy myself." Star lets a smile form on her face, adjusting her robe. "We haven't gone out together in a while after all. You" She points a finger at Kepler, "are a lazy cat, so we don't get to do much."
"Hey you love it."
Star rolls her eyes and puts her footwear on. Once both of them are ready to go, they leave their home and walk over to the carriage. Star opens her robe a little, allowing a beetle to fly out and land on the ground. Kepler watches as she places a mushroom on-top of its head, before the beetle grows in size until it is about the size of a horse. With the reins attached to the beetle, the two witches hop on the carriage, where Kepler sits down beside Star.
"You ready?"
Star lets out some air as she holds the reins in her hands, "Ready as I can be when you get forced to go out by a lazy cat."
Said cat playfully sticks her tongue out at the other witch as Star gestures to the beetle to start moving. Once the carriage is on the dirt road Kepler takes this opportunity to get herself comfortable. It may only be a half hour ride from home to town, but that doesn't mean that comfort shouldn't take priority. Getting herself comfortable she looks out to the trees absentmindedly. Normally she would in fact nap on the ride but she doesn't want to do that this time. She has all the energy she needs in order to hangout with her friend. Letting out some air and feeling her ears twitch from the light breeze Kepler simply allows herself to relax for the half hour trip into the town of Senfold.
-----
(Half hour later)
Kepler opens her eyes as she starts to hear the rustle and bustle of the town ahead. She stretches her arms as she glances over to Star, who is looking at her with an amused expression. "Not even five minutes out from home and somehow despite you dragging me out here you still manage to nap on the ride here."
Despite what she said Kepler wasn't bothered by it. She allowed a grin to form on her face before wrapping an arm to Star's side, "And yet you kept going to town anyway. Admit it, you wanted to do this night out as much as I did."
The mushroom witch shifts her head a little, which to the catgirl means that she just rolled her eyes. Her eyes may be covered by hair all the time, but Kepler knows her well enough to know most of her body language. Letting go of Star, Kepler points over near the tavern, "There's a spot for Moon! Let's take it. They get some rest, and just have a good time while we're having fun inside."
Star nods at the suggestion, turning the giant stag beetle towards the area she pointed at. Once she leads both the beetle and the carriage towards the spot, the two witches disembark. Kepler gives the large beetle a pat on its side before walking over to Star, who is making sure everything is secured.
"You good to go?" Kepler asked.
The short witch hums as she secures her giant beetle, making sure it's all good before walking up to the taller catgirl, "Yeah yeah I'm coming."
With her friend beside her, Kepler leads Star over to the front of the tavern, the sign reading The Fortified Keg hanging over the door. Opening the door the two witches enter the tavern, seeing the bustling of people inside, some getting drinks, some with food, others having conversations, and even more looking like they had just finished a hard days work. With that observation, the two head over to a table and take their seats.
Star shuffles in her seat, getting herself some additional height to be level with Kepler, "Busy night huh? We were lucky to just find a spare table. So then-" Kepler watches her lean back in her chair, "Guess we just wait for someone to take our order then?"
"Yeah... Sure." After she says that, it falls to a relative silence between the two witches. It was around this point that Kepler realized that this wasn't exactly a great idea. Not because of getting out of the house, but because any amount of small talk won't mean much. They both live together, they both almost always know what the other person is up to at the given moment, and they both know each others routine in and out. So take all of that into consideration and suddenly any thought of going out becomes a not so great one.
As Kepler was struggling on what to say, much less do, Star speaks up. "Kepler." She looks over at the other witch, "What do you call a pile of cats?"
Kepler was confused at the question. Was this about her personal life or... "A cuddle pile I guess?"
The cat witch sees a smile form on Star's face, "A meow-ntain!"
When she says that it took a bit for Kepler to get it. Once she did though the catgirl snorted at the terrible joke. "Meow-tain? Really?"
"Hey it took a bit to think of that one!" Star looks away embarrassed, "Not like you got anything..."
Oh that was a challenge. And while Kepler doesn't normally exert herself too much, this was an exception. "Well Star, I'll have you know that I am an excellent joke master."
Star smirks and rests her head on her hand. Kepler doesn't need to see that her friend is waiting for her attempt at a joke. With that said, Kepler accepted it too soon, when she doesn't have any idea what to use. Glancing around the tavern she looks for anything that could be used as a joke. Upon glancing at a pumpkin pie nearby she gets one. "Alright, What do you call a fat pumpkin?"
Star thinks a little bit before shrugging. Now it is time for the cat to add in the punchline, "A pumpkin!"
There was silence at the table. When it felt like forever, Star puffs out her cheeks a little before chuckling, "Kepler that was terrible."
The catgirls' ears droop a little when Star says that, "Yeah I know... I needed something at least. It was the best I could come up with."
The witch across from her chuckles as she leans over and places a hand on hers, "Well it was an attempt at least." Star clears her throat before leaning away. "Alright, got another one. What do you call a bunch of strawberries in a band?"
"I don't know, what?"
"A jam session!"
Ok that one got Kepler laughing. "Not half bad Star. Not half bad at all." The catgirl witch thinks for a moment as she attempts to make another joke, "Alright here's another one. What do you call a joke you make in the shower? A clean joke!"
This time Star smiles as she giggled at that, "See you got potential. But not good enough. Let's see..." As the mushroom witch tries to think of another one to tell, a human waitress walks by, waving over at the two.
"Ah sorry about that! Apologies about the wait, we are super busy as you can see. I hope that I didn't interrupt anything?"
"No no you're fine!" Star makes sure that the waitress wasn't interrupting anything before clearing her throat, "Say Kepler-" Star grins as she looks over at her friend, "I can tell you this last joke. But. There's a condition to it. If I can get you to laugh at this next one, you have to pay up. And if you don't then you can pick what I get to eat. Sound like a deal?"
Kepler's brows raise up at the challenge. Glancing over at the waitress, she sees that she too is interested at this stipulation. "Alright, I except this challenge. Only one joke." The witch grins at the other girl, "Go."
Seeing her friend immediately go into thinking makes her wonder what kind of joke Star will pull off. Eventually after what felt like minutes Star grins as she folds her hands together, "Knock knock."
A knock knock joke huh? Well lets see what she has then. "Who's there?"
"Owl say."
"Owl say who-"
Right then and there Kepler keeled over on the table. And Star can see it. And with that she can see the other witch deliver the finishing blow, "Yes, they do."
And Kepler laughed at that. It was so dumb that she should be ashamed of falling for such a corny joke so easily. But that's likely why she laughed in the first place. Because of how corny it was. "Alright Star you win. I'll pay for the food." The catgirl looks up at the waitress who seemed slightly amused at the joke as well. "Sorry about that."
The waitress brushes her off, "It's ok. Did give me a little laugh as well so you don't need to be ashamed at losing to something so corny. Anyways-" She pulls out a little notepad, "What would you two like to order?"
Kepler hums as she looks over the menu. In hindsight she probably should've done this earlier, but she was too into the joke-off her and Star were having. Luckily there was something the catgirl could have. "Yeah I can go with... The Stronganoff Special? With noodles if that's fine."
The waitress hums as she writes this down. Star on the other hand raises a brow at this, "Don't you mean stroganoff?"
"No I said Stronganoff. It's written like that see?" Showing the menu to Star, she blinks a little before uttering a small 'huh' as she sees that it is in fact spelt that way. "Well then. As for my order, I will have a chicken and greens alfredo."
The waitress hums some more before looking at the two, "And would you two like some drinks with that or wait a bit?"
"Wait a bit for now if you don't mind."
With a nod and a smile the lady walks away with their order written down, leaving both witches alone at the table once more. Before Kepler broke the silence anyway, "You did pretty well with those jokes." She playfully nudges Star's shoulder from across the table, "When did you become such a comedian?"
She chuckles as she is asked that question, "Never really. I just remember reading them somewhere and figured that we needed an icebreaker since we both were kinda flubbing this night out so far."
"Yeah you weren't wrong there."
The two laughed at this. And here Kepler was, thinking that this was a bad idea. "So Star-" She leans back in her chair and shows off her bracelet, "Wanna watch me twirl some forks around for a bit while we're waiting?"
Star rolls her eyes at the question. Good enough for her. The magic glows faintly in her bracelet as she makes the set of forks they have float in the air before rotating in the air. "I won't be doing this for long. Just something to do while we wait. I'll stop if you want me to." Not immediately hearing anything from her friend, Kepler keeps rotating the two forks in the air before tapping them together.
"Oh neat." Kepler said, noting the resistance of the forks when she tried to pull them apart, "Magnetic. Don't see that everyday." Kepler lessens the gravity around one of them, seeing that they're still stuck together. "One of those fun little things you don't see often."
Star nods in agreement at this. After another rotation with the forks Kepler sets them down on the table. "That was fun while it lasted." Letting out a sigh the catgirl rests her head on her hand, "I know it's busy here and all but I want my food..."
The mushroom witch nods, tapping her fingers against the wooden table as they both patiently wait for their food. As they wait, Kepler scrunches her face. She is not doing a great job with this and needs to figure out what to say so that it isn't so awkward between the two.
"Hey Kepler?"
The catgirl glances at the other witch, who is twirling one of the ends of her hair, "Maybe... Sometime we can go out over to Port Dorroad? It's a long trip I know but there was a place I saw when I travelled before that might interest you?" Kepler raises a brow, no longer feeling anxious about how to make this less awkward, but curious about what Star has in mind.
"Well it was a sculpting fair I think. I know it's not what you would normally do, but I guess I thought that it was something we can go to together?" Star nervously taps her fingers against the table before shaking her head, "Forget it, it was a silly idea."
Shaking her own head at this Kepler places a hand on Star's, making them stop tapping, "I don't think so. Yeah it's not something either of us do but that doesn't mean we can't find enjoyment out of it right? May as well try."
Star is silent at this. Eventually she smiles, her hand now laying flat on the table. "Thanks. It'll be awhile before we head out to Dorroad but glad we could talk about it." Kepler nods, and before either of them could continue the conversation, both of their plates of food arrive, being placed in front of them.
"Here you are!" The waitress says, smiling at the two, "Sorry it took so long. Hope you two enjoy your meal!" The two witches thank her before she walks away. With her gone the two look at their food, still steaming. Star picks up her fork, digging it into her alfredo.
"Here's hoping this was worth the wait." Following her lead Kepler picks up her own fork, digging into her food. Upon taking a bite the catgirl notes two things. First, it was still a hot for her when she put it in her mouth. And two, this was really good. Impressed by the taste of the beef and the sauce in her mouth, Kepler takes another bite of the stroganoff.
After the second bite Kepler glances at Star, who also seems to be enjoying her own food as well. As if she knows that the catgirl is staring at her, Star looks up at her and smiles, "You know what? This was absolutely worth the wait. We should come here again sometime."
Kepler nods in agreement, taking another forkful of beef into her mouth. She was no food aficionado, that's too much work. What she can say about this food in front of her? Best thing she's eaten. As she chows down on her dinner she makes note of Star taking her time with it. That's when Kepler stops, holding out a forkful of beef stroganoff to her friends' face, "You want a bit? I don't mind really."
Eyeing the forkful of food, Star glances at Kepler before taking a bite from her fork. She watches her chew on it for a moment before swallowing. "That." Star leans forward and smiles, eyeing Kepler's food, "That was pretty good. A bit better then my safe option. Which is why I want to trade."
Oh she was not going there. "No. My food." Kepler pulls her plate away from the hungry witch, "You have your own, eat that. You can get it next time." Star giggles at this, trying to stab Kepler's food with her fork, "Stop it. Mine!"
"Come of Kep I'm sure you can spare some of it!" With her own fork Kepler blocks Star's attempts at eating her more of food.
This goes on for a little bit between the two, with Star trying to stab a bit of Kepler's stroganoff while she parries the attacks. There was a brief opening, and that was all that Kepler needed, rushing forward and stabbing a bit of chicken and noodles before taking that bite. Kepler smugly smirks at Star as she chews on the chicken alfredo, who glares back. With a sigh Star leans back into her chair with a small smile, "Alright Kep, you win. I won't eat anymore of your food. Just don't eat mine ok?"
She chuckles at this before going back to eating her food. Calmed down from the playful 'battle' between the two Kepler lets herself relax as both her and Star eat their dinners, making quiet conversation whenever they each thought of something to say. About 15-20 minutes pass before they each are finished with their respective dinners, Kepler leaning back against her chair.
"Oof. Who knew that one serving was enough to fill me up?" She looks over at Star, who has pushed her plate away. "You good too Star?"
The witch lets out a long breath of air in response. That told her everything she needed to know. Which was good as she saw their waitress come by, looking cheery as always, "You two doing well? Would you be interested in our deserts?"
As tempting as it was, Kepler already wasn't ready for whatever the price of their meals and drinks would total up to, desert would drain her dry if she got some for the both of them. "We're good thanks. Just hand me the bill if you don't mind."
She nods her head and writes on her notepad, pausing every now and then to do the math. When she gets it done the waitress writes down the total and passes the paper to Kepler, "Your total is around 27 silver pieces."
Kepler feels her eye twitch in annoyance before making it stop. 27 was a lot for a two person dinner. She was lucky that she saved up to 40 silver for this reason but still. Holding back some air she digs into her shirt to pull out her little bag containing her silver. Pulling out around 34 silver she hands it over to the waitress, who keeps the smile up as she takes her hard earned silver. "Thank you! Hope you two have a nice night!"
The waitress was about to leave when Star clears her throat, "Sorry to ask but do you do take home drinks here or no?" Kepler keeps silent, wondering what she was up to. She should've asked if Star wanted anything else, and the mushroom witch gently clasps her hand, stopping her from pulling out more silver, "You don't need to do that Kep. I can do it if the options there."
Looking at Star the waitress shakes her head, "I'm sorry miss, we don't do that anymore. We used to but tourists and the adventuring type would never actually return them after they're done with them. Sorry for that."
Star waves the waitress off, understanding what she means, "No worries. I'd be pretty annoyed too if people essentially stole glassware from my business. Just figured I'd ask. Thanks again." The waitress bows her head and walks off, leaving the two witches alone. "Sorry about that. Before I moved here with you there was a city that did do portable drinks. I wasn't really expecting it to happen but I figured to ask anyway."
The catgirl could understand that to a degree. "Maybe one day we can go somewhere that does that. In the meantime though-" Kepler gets out of her chair, stretching her limbs, "I'm about ready to go home. Pretty sure that Moon wants to do the same, being out there for who-knows-how long."
"Yeah... Let's go then."
Star gets up from her chair as well, letting Kepler lead the way. When they get out of the tavern the had gone down outside, a few stars shining dimly in the sky as they both walk over to the giant stag beetle, who slowly got up as the two witches approached it. Kepler climbs onto the carriage seat as Star pets the beetle, getting herself comfortable before the other person gets on as well and they go off to head home. Kepler feels herself dozing off a few times, but the rocking of the carriage kept her awake. It was quiet during the duration of the half hour ride back. It was understandable to the cat witch, as both of them were getting tired.
When they finally made it home Kepler was relieved. When Star parks the carriage near the house she hops off of it, heading towards the house, feeling herself become more and more tired as she got closer. When Star showed up shortly beside her with Moon resting on her hat did Kepler go inside the house with her friend. Upon entry Kepler places the bag of silver on the counter, going for her bedroom. She wants to be in something comfy.
It didn't take long for her to change either, going for a pajama shorts approach. All dressed up now she heads over to the couch, seeing Star in her favourite spot, also dressed up in nightwear. Were it any other day she would be playful about it and lay on Star until she relented but she wasn't feeling up for it tonight. Guess being in a public place for that long really drained her. Shuffling over to the couch Kepler takes her seat beside the mushroom witch, feeling all of her energy drop the instant she sat down.
Letting out a yawn she glances over at Star, "Ugh... Think I might just sleep on the couch tonight... Don't feel like going to my bed. Ironic considering I changed there. I can carry you to bed if you want, I don't mind..."
She doesn't hear anything from Star at first, leaving her in silence. Before Kepler could say anything else she hears her friend speak, "Maybe... We could sleep here together? Cuddle if you like? I feel the same way really. Too lazy for my own bed." Star lets out a tired chuckle as she shuffles on the couch, laying down on her side, "I'm becoming like you."
Feeling a grin form at this Kepler joins Star, laying where she was. It was a bit of a squeeze but she could handle it, "Isn't it great? Now you too can relax."
They both let out a tired laugh at this before they each let out a yawn. As Kepler finishes yawning, she absentmindedly wraps her arms around the shorter witch, placing her hands around her stomach area. Once she realizes where her hands are Kepler pulls them away, "S-Sorry. Don't know why I did that..."
Before she could fully take her furry hands off of her though, Star grabs one of them, guiding it back down to her stomach, "Don't mind it. Feels yawn nice..."
Kepler blushes a little at the forwardness before relaxing, letting her fingers gently touch Star's exposed tummy. Letting herself be comfortable with this she unknowingly allows herself to purr into Star's back, closing her eyes to allow herself to sleep. A good end to cap off a good dinner trip out she would say.
"be brave for me, love" (maybe there's a scary bug in the dark)
It was dark in the house as Kepler walks out of her room, tired as she heads over to the kitchen. She wasn't entirely too sure why she was heading over to the kitchen, probably out of boredom. Star was still in bed in her room, so the catgirl needed to be quiet while she was out here.
Despite common belief, cat versions of her species don't see very well in the dark, no better then normal cats in comparison. Her ears on the other hand, very sensitive to soft noises. Kepler feels an ear twitch as she hears something skittering in the kitchen, looking at the spot where she roughly hears it coming from.
Narrowing her eyes at the spot Kepler doesn't see anything at first. Just when she is about to look away, her tired mind catches a glimpse of something big skittering on the floor. In the tired mind of the catgirl, it looked liked some sort of monster in the dark.
Which promptly insinuates the proper reaction when one sees a giant mysterious something on the floor.
"Staaaar... There's something in the kitchen! Can you come out?!"
There was a groan down the hallway, "Kepler, it's late... Deal with it yourself and let me sleep..."
This wasn't a satisfactory answer for the tired catgirl, watching the outline of the thing skitter away, "Star it's like a foot and a half, I need help."
There was silence down the hall before she hears a bed creak, "Fine, I'll go help... Be brave for me love, your mushroom knight is coming..."
Hearing the sigh get louder, Kepler turns to face the hatless witch outlined in the dark. Though Kepler couldn't see the expression under her hair but she can tell it's one of annoyance. "Alright, I'll turn on the lights. Maybe this so-called 'bug' was just your tired brain making things up..."
The kitchen dims lightly as Star waves a hand to brighten the mushrooms she has placed around. Though the lights being on does not help at all, as now both of the witches can see the actual two foot and a half cockroach skittering around the kitchen.
"What the hell is that why is it so big?!"
They hold onto each other as the cockroach too is startled by the sudden screaming and dim light and runs away towards a crack near the door. Only to not be able to fit due to its aforementioned size. Using her gravity magic Kepler swings the door open and makes the gravity around the cockroach fly out of the house before slamming it shut.
They both breath heavily as the door is now closed, and there is one less giant cockroach inside the house.
"...Star?"
"Yeah?"
Kepler looks around the house, now concerned about how many more cockroaches could be that big near their house. "You wanna stay up and make sure there aren't any more bugs left inside?"
