Not what you asked for but you're getting it anyway because I felt like writing her. You’re getting one for Xiao anyway because I love their stupid dynamic.
Coming to the Wangshu Inn had become part of Keqing’s routine. Although to her it was not so much of a routine appointment anymore. Instead she had made an effort to finish her taks so she could spend more time at the Inn. Sometimes she swore Xiao didn’t even notice her presence the way he could stay so silent just staring out to the expanse of plains. The silence never bothered her. Instead it typically led to her moving to his side sometimes resting on him also taking in the view. It was in those moments she found solace from the world around her.
The battle of Orsial had taken a toll on her and wavered her confidence in some ways. But in Xaio’s presence that anxiety wasn’t so loud. Keqing was not exactly sure when she had begun to find comfort in the adeptus or how they had ended up in their predicament. Finding comfort in Xiao was almost a contradiction of herself but then again she was not much different from the adeptus. Both were protectors of Liyue, their tasks were to rid Liyue of corruption, and both were quite stubborn in their ways.
Something felt slightly different today though, but like normal she moved to his side as the sun was setting, in this lighting it was always clear to see how golden his eyes really were. It was moments like these she was finding it was easy to get lost in him. And whenever he caught her staring her heart always felt like it skipped a beat, as though she had been caught doing something bad.
Part of her knew she shouldn’t, that she was exposing herself way too much to be hurt. There was not any possible way that he could remotely feel the way that she did. Yet she was still reaching for him tilting her head slightly to the side, careful not to collide with his nose. Her lips gently pressed to his, surprisingly they were soft, unlike his hands which had become battle worn. He was sweet from the sugar in the almond tofu he had become so fond of over the years. Her arms wrapped around him partly on instinct, partly on need.
Keqing was not really sure what the adeptus would do or think. Would he tell her again that she has no respect for the adepti? Or would he simply just pull away and they would never speak of it. Either way she was going to end up embarrassed in this situation. Things with Xiao took time- Keqing knew that and despite her disposition of not wanting to wait, he was one person she was okay waiting for.
