I've had the concept of pre Blackberries Nova attending some fancy city funtion bc a client invited her and her friends bc they honestly are the back bone of so many small and big businesses and for once she gets to wear a serious outfit that isn't some cutsey cosplay

And Pluto was lowkey dragged by Kerby bc the man has friends in high places and he gotta keep them happy but Pluto is so bored out their mind but while they're just spacing out while looking at the crowd, they spot a big fuzzy tail they'd recognize anywhere

And then the person in front of Nova moves out the way thus revealing her and Pluto's system soft reboots as they compute and their eyes go pink for one of the first times as they are for once left speechless

And Kerby finally notices Pluto ain't participating in convo and then he sees their eyes are pink when he has NEVER seen before bc honestly they never have changed that color prior to Nova so he points it out and Pluto fumbles before shaking their head like a dog

They get forced back to yellow and they just make a smart ass comment about power saver mode and Kerby calls bullshit but Pluto makes a quick plot to smart ass their way to getting sent away via being a nuisance

Which works

Kerby tells them to stay outta trouble and Pluto waves them off before making a bee line to their fav catgirl who is currently regretting attending this party bc boy its boring and the wine aint hitting like she hoped

Her friends (who were her ride) all scattered to diff parts of the party for diff reasons leaving her be but she doesn't mind bc she wants as minimal interaction as possible

Which worked til she hears that one of a kind deep af voice drop a "Fancy seeing you here Catnip"

And she whips around after nearly spitting out her drink

Which was a mistake because she sees Pluto's fancy suit and tie fit and nearly chokes which concerns the enby a bit

Nova's eyes are dilated like a motherfucker bc she def enjoys what she is seeing and Pluto notices immediately and gets a smug smirk with a "See somethin ya like?" and Nova turns bright red and forces herself to turn away so she can fix her eyes and calm down

And while she's turned, Pluto gets a nice view of not only just her back bc backless dress but also

Plutos eyes go pink again and now this party doesn't seem like such a bad idea afterall
