Today is Day 1,601 of Putin's 3-Day Special Operation in Ukraine. Things continue to deteriorate for Russia.
Ukraine's overall strategy has become increasingly apparent over the past few months.
For starters, the Ukrainians want to destabilize the Russian presence in Crimea by attacking military targets there and making it impossible for the Russians to resupply forces already there.
The Kerch Bridge in the east and supply routes into the peninsula on the north and northeast are now regularly under heavy attack by Ukraine. Also, the systematic bombing of Russia's oil infrastructure, logistics centers, and military manufacturing facilities puts the squeeze on what Russia can do on the front lines. If Russia loses Crimea, it would create major shockwaves in the Kremlin.
