Sam wakes up to a sudden coughing fit. His body is still recovering from the (failed) trials, but, thankfully, the past few weeks have seen his condition improve drastically. He still feels tired as all get out and has the occasional respiratory attack, but every day brings him closer to being 100% again. As the wheezes and coughs subside, he checks his palm - clean - and breathes a sigh of relief. He's just about to settle back into the comfort of his sheets when the sound of music floating up to his room from the library draws his curiosity. He slips out of bed and pads down the hall, intending to only check on his brother (or Cas), go to the bathroom, and slip back to bed.

As he draws closer to the library, he recognizes the song playing - In the Still of the Night. Sam snorts softly to himself. It can't be Dean in there after all - he'd never listen to something off the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. He peaks around the corner anyway - maybe Cas could do with some company - and what he sees astounds him.

Not only is Dean listening to something off the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, but he's, well, dancing to it. And he's not alone. Cocooned in his arms is none other but their fallen angel, his head resting comfortably on Dean's shoulder as they sway gently to the music.

Sam tiptoes out of the library and back to his room as silently as he can as to not to alert them to his presence. The three of them have had a rough time of it lately. He wants Dean and Cas have at least this much, dancing together like nothing else matters.
