Dye-a-bolical
I went to a knitting retreat in April, and took a dyeing workshop there. We used reactive dyes, Kool-Aid, water, and vinegar. These two skeins of yarn I dyed at the workshop -- Fox Tail and Grapes -- using Drops Fabel as the base.
This braid of Finnsheep wool was dyed with three flavors of Kool-Aid -- Pink Lemonade, Tangerine, and Grape. (And I’ve already spun the fiber.)
When I got home, I ordered Eurolana acid dyes from World of Wool. And it’s been a dyeing mayhem ever since!
Bodacious (on the left) was dyed for the Yarniacs Colors of Fall 2016 KAL. On the right, When Doves Cry. Both are Drops Fabel sock yarn.
This is Saffron on 2-ply BFL/nylon from World of Wool.
All yarns are kettle dyed. This is Kukunor in the pot...

In addition to sock yarn, I’ve also been dyeing spinning fiber. To prevent felting, I’ve dyed them in the oven using this tutorial from Knitty: 120 C for an hour, then an additional 30 min in 175 C if necessary.
