archie really spends all of season 7 in a permanent mode of "are we about to kiss right now? haha lol no of course that was a joke. no I wouldn't kiss you of course not. we're best friends why would we ever kiss. I would never kiss you yeah no actually if you kissed me that would be gross. you're like a sibling to me and I don't even swing that way" and then when someone does want to kiss him he almost starts crying

both of them were single and ready to mingle, looking for some casual light fun, so they hooked up on the dl and were each others' dates to the pussycats show

while singing "it's never too late / to visit a new place", josie gently strokes archie's face, giving her blessing to his fling with her stepbrother.

also love tabitha including BOTH kevarchie kisses. she said gay rights. in conclusion kevin and archie had a fling during s5 and it was one of their happiest memories.

Last episode of Riverdale was RAS saying "All right, I'm gonna give you one more chance to recognize Archie/Kevin as the superior ship!" And honestly, good for him.

Once or twice each season Archie's Weird Fantasy-RAS manages to wrestle back control from Archie Comics Employee-RAS and deliver an episode where Archie's fruitiness is dialed up to 11, but this episode it was zooming past 20, 30, 40...

The tender looks, the whispered conversations alone in the gym, the softness in his handling of Kevin, the sudden and desperate need to protect him, and the final request to eat lunch with him and his boyfriend, despite knowing exactly what they are...

Oh RAS, just let him kiss a boy. You want it, we want it, just sneak it past the CW, you're already cancelled.
