There was a time long ago (well, before my time and before many of my followers were born) when a programmers tools were physical entities.
Dennis B. & Claus B. had a few great examples of these implements on display, which included calculators, slide rules, devices for figuring out the length of paper tapes, doing hexadecimal and octal math, and charts, and even a type of hand punch for IBM 80 column punch cards.
I’m sure it seemed like a bold new frontier to some of these folks, and I wish I could get a glimpse of that world for myself... I can dream, right?
