Just before the lunch hour this morning, a meal delivery service arrived at Khaeris’ vardo in the Bazarr of Silvermon City. Although she hadn’t ordered anything, the Goblin seemed in a hurry to deliver the meal “before it melted.”
Inside the paper bag was a boxed galaxy cake, topped with multicolored macaroons and sprinkles of all shapes and sizes. An extra large plastic container held a dripping triple mound of purple “ube” ice cream atop a brownie. At the bottom of the bag was also a small, deep orange box. Inside, resting on bright canary yellow tissue paper, was a pair of extra large hoop earrings in multicolored, hand-rolled clay beads.
There was a note attached:
“Pizza’s on the way, but I ken you well. Dessert first, aye? Hope you like the earrings. Happy Birthday. -IB”
