EXTREME UNEASE
Khaos and Anita: 33
Khaos gestured grandiosely over the barren wasteland of smoldering tree stumps and blackened earth. The pitch surface of the tundra made Anita's stomach churn, and she clutched her jacket tighter around herself, the hot breeze billowing the flaps of said coat in a frantic frenzy.
"Look around you," Khaos said idly, nodding to the nothingness. "Nature is dead. The future is bleak. What can your kind conduct if all your elements have died and gone?" Anita glanced up blankly; her eyes full of an emotion indescribable and bleak. Khaos's mouth morphed into a phantasm of twisted mirth; their features contorting to follow the gesture.
"Your expectations--" another sweep of their arm and the primordial god brought the current world back to itself, green and lush with the fragrance of an early Spring. Children laughed and ran in a park full of thriving trees. Dryads wavered in and out of aspen shadows. Fey lounged in low-hanging branches. Dogs barked. Birds sang. Bees buzzed.
Anita's eyes welled.
"Versus your reality." Khaos gently settled one of their hands on Anita's shoulder, squeezing. She shied away from the touch; bristling and wiping at her eyes.
"How will you change your viewpoint?" Khaos asked childishly, watching her. "Not all is lost, you know. There are ways--"
"Leave me--all of us--alone," Anita hissed sharply. Khaos's words stalled, the deity icing up anew, humanity dissolved for the sake of cunning understanding.
"Same as ever, Anita. Stubborn..." They disintegrated; smoke on the breeze. "And ever so unwilling to change."

-puffs up with a ripple of darkness around herself, retracting her tongue and all but pouting under her makeshift hood.- “I am no such thing, imp-child.”
Lambda: "Yeah, yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night." -v- -reaches a hand out to gently pat Nyx's head then rolls over with a yawn, pulling the covers further over herself- "Goodnight, Nyx."

..-smiles slightly from under the cowl, though her eyes remain black and flat, glittering faintly in the gloom of the cowl she’s made.- “…you are welcome.” -slowly sticks out her forked tongue at Lambda.- “It was too much trouble anyway…”
Lambda: -snorts- "Yeah, like I'll believe that a lady who can command shadows and all that crap had trouble with one lil' imp's shadow. I think you're just kind of a softy."
