What'd you think of the fight choreography in Go-busters? I know people enjoyed the suit fights but I've seen people remark the mech battles as well. Did you enjoy the metaroid - megazord concept when it came to the combat?
well if i’m being real i actually tend to skip over the mech battles in sentai sometimes, because they just don’t interest me as much. i love giant robots of course but the battles themselves tend to be so formulaic, y’know? just the same thing over & over again. so i really did appreciate gobus’s approach to it - often having the mech battle going at the same time as the regular fight, which kept my short attention span occupied, and having the buddyroids be a component of the mechs, which added an extra character element. (i’m the type who watches toku for the characters above all else. i don’t really pay attention to the “technical details” as much as other ppl seem to?)
in terms of fight choreography - i really enjoyed it! then again i’m not v hard to please. i like how you can really tell they’ve all been training for 13 years - there’s a definite professionalism to their fighting. and i like how each buster is distinctive, though i do think yoko could’ve used a more obvious specialization combat-wise? hiromu has his speed, ryuuji’s got his strength, and yoko is... just generally nimble & good at jumping? idk. i love her fighting style anyway. i love gobus in general (but y’all knew that)
how'd you feel about the dramatic power ballad guitar ost? (that I swear was exclusive to Daigo)
hmm. can’t say i really noticed the power ballad element? i liked all the music that i heard, though. the OP & ED are killer, of course, as are all the instrumental tracks that play during fight scenes n such. (and the song that played during the final kou-centric episode? idk what that was, but i loved it.) one of those shows where the soundtrack definitely adds to the charm~
