In this video Vress talks about crowdfunded MMORPGs and whether they are a good or bad thing for the MMO genre. Personally, I feel that crowdfunding is a less than ideal way to finance an MMORPG. However, we are not seeing big companies investing in new MMO games right now, so it may just be our best chance of seeing something truly innovative.
My hopes for an exciting new MMORPG are with Crowfall, Ashes of Creation, Pantheon: Rise of The Fallen and Chronicles of Elyria. Maybe Star Citizen and Camelot Unchained too... though I'm a little less certain of them right now!
