The Shaker Heights, Ohio native Kid Cudi has been doing much more than doing TED Talks back home. He just recently released a banger titled, The Frequency, produced by Mike Dean, Plain Pat and himself. This week I have been running around non-stop in between covering Conrad Sewell, Andra Day, Travis Scott, Rihanna, Boomscat, Madame Gandhi, and Red Baraat The Festival of Colors but all I keep seeing go through my time line when I have a free second is people go nuts over this new Kid Cudi track. All I can say at this very moment is God D*mn this dude really broke the internet and has everyone going crazy of this new single he released to the world. After taking the leap from Good Music and going out on his own to build his new endeavor Wicked Awesome he’s clearly about to up the ante and make sure his presence is felt.
Frequency is a really chill track with a bell that’ll make your head ring from the moment it comes on. As usual, the track features Kid Cudi speaking about what he’s into mushrooms, women, chill vibes, and great music. After releasing his latest album, Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven, which was critically acclaimed, it built a lot of skepticism on which direction Kid Cudi’s future may be going. But that always seems to happen when an artist decides to experiment with a new sound and or take a leap to shed light in a different way. This is what I love about artists is the simple fact that they have more free will than ever before to step outside of the box that the world is oh so familiar with them being in. That’s what art is all about, right?
Either way, you’ll definitely want to tune into this single and zone out. Do whatever you have to do to make this an experience. Light a blunt or workout or simply do nothing at all and press play and enjoy this new gold. As always keep winning!
