my dear friend Kid Cedek's NEW CIRCUS FREAKS FINAL CUT VIDEO!!! CHECK THIS DOPENESS. I'm the RedPanda dancing haha
-DJ Kid Cedek dropped his new single Circus Freaks during his birthday bash at Graveyard Tavern in East Atl Village. Friends and Fans from all over came to take part in the night long celebration. After several other dj's played their sets, Kid Cedek took his place on stage and released his new single. The slow melody of the ice cream truck tune filled the venue and the crowds eyes lit up with excitement. The sweet sound of a familiar childhood song mixed in with Kid Cedek's hard beats made for a single that sent everyone into complete rage mode.
I caught up with Kid Cedek and he was more than happy to fill out a little Q&A for me.
Q&A's with Kid Cedek
Where are you from originally and when and why did you move to Atlanta?
I'm From DC originally, well really Northern VA aka the DMV (DC MD VA). I moved here to ATL strictly for music. To learn to DJ.
Did moving to a new place influence your music?
It did highly! DC area was where i really danced and embraced the hip-hop culture, here i learned a lot more about the electronic scene in more depth and started to really create my own individual style.
What do you draw from for inspiration?
Honestly my family, and really various types of people and things. I've learned throughout the years that i can learning something from everyone as long as i can drop the pride and ego and just listen
Name three of your favorite places of the city and why others should check them out.
Little 5 Points- (Honestly cause Wish is there lol) East Atlanta- (I play there every third friday) I like how eclectic the crowd is VIriginia Highlands- Awesome food and it feels chill like a suburb in the city
What are 5 things you enjoyed most about your birthday party?
ALL THE DJS THAT MURDERED IT (& how diverse we all are)How smoothly the line up x nite went (In the big scheme of things it important w/ an event of that scale)the fact that Street Lurkin gave me a framed portrait of like 10 cats hahaThe fact that we were able to have everyone enjoy themselves totally free (no cover) That i got to spend it w/ everyone in the scene that i respect and/or look up to!
What advice would you give to someone following the same musical path as you?
Sacrifices have to be made. Don't ever stop pursuing your dreams. Dont make excuses. Quit your day job and give yourself a chance. Don't be a superstar dj. Be a producer that djs. And drop the fucking EGO!
If you could JetSet to anyplace in the world for a day, where would you go and why?
I'd probably go to Australia. I hear its awesome there! And that people are nice. Gotta have that Atlanta nice people swag haha Make sure you catch the EP coming soon on ROT10MUSIK and check out www.kidcedek.com for updates.
