I have to insist!", she declared before again taking out the potions and poultices she had in her leather bag. "That cough will kill you. And you are a kind man. Valisthea needs people like you. What did you do before? Were you with other sick? Or worked in a mine?"

Joshua hates this so much. He knows he uses Phoenix powers too much. He knows he should be more careful. But how could he do that ? Ultima needs to be stopped, and there are new fights everywhere now. He just can't stand there and do nothing. If there are people who can fight, it's surely the Dominants, even if it means dying in the process. He prefers to die fighting than to just wait and see what would come next. If he could survive, though, it would be much better...

When the little girl comes back for him, he forces a brief smirk in her direction. Of course, she seems like someone who would insist. And it's because she's kind. Who is she ? Doesn't she have parents ?

He shakes his head. "I have done none of this, my lady," he assures. It's quite hard to explain what's his problem without telling her who he truly is, and it's something he's still trying to hide from most people. He coughs again before he adds, "Let's say that I tend to overwork."

She was just a child; she shouldn't be seeing all of this.

That was an internal thought that Kunsel felt like kicking himself for. She was a child. But so were so many others, who should never have seen the horrors of war. Since Elwin Rosfield's death, what had been the Duchy of Rosaria had descended into a horrible place the late grand-duke would have wept to see.

He had always cared for his people, and the former-duchess had quickly married and become their so-called empress. Snake that she was. All of that political playing at backwards and frowards mattered little to the here and now, and the people on the ground.

Like this poor child.

"It has hurt worse in the past and I've lived." A quick smile to the little one, and Kusnel shifted to sit straighter. She was young, with short black hair and so very worried about him, bless her. "- what about you? Are you okay?"

He didn't know which Eikons had clashed in the area close to them, but it didn't matter. Eikons never cared for the small people on the ground. They barely gave a shit for their Dominants, let alone normal lowly humans. "- did you get hit by anything?" some fallen building masonry, a flying piece of debris?

[ fix ] for Kihel to treat Drogo’s injury 

A hiss left cracked lips, his back meeting the grime covered wall of one of the ruins. Perhaps he had been too careless in the fight with those damnable beast-men, and though he won it was at a cost greater than what he truly wished to pay. It was, truthfully, just a flesh wound but it was deep the blood pouring freely and decorating the ground with its crimson shade. At least those traveling to the City-state would be fine once they came from whatever shelter they took when the Minotaur hoard descended down from the hills.

Leaning his head back against the wall he let out a sigh, resigning himself to simply sit and wait for his beast to awaken and heal the wound he had suffered. Mids was a cranky arse of a Eikon, and though he could lend his aid whenever he pleased there were moments like these that he remained silent testing the will of his Host. Eyes fluttered closed for a moment, maybe two, before the patter of feet against the sandy ground and the feel of cool hands upon his heated flesh. "Ne..?" The sound left his lips as his eyes focused upon the tiny figure of the little girl before him, her hands deftly moving to staunch the bleeding and pour a rather pungent solution onto his wound.

Perhaps the blood-loss was more severe than he thought for he could not move his body to stop her, to make the stranger away from him. The people of Valisthea were ones he did not trust, not now after he had seen so much. Kindness was a foreign concept amongst those that lived here... yet the diligence in which the girl worked to help him told such a different tale. Perhaps all wasn't lost in this blighted land.
