oooh fun facts or fav concepts.... i really love squirrelflights arc in this au! her arc starts with her being a stereotypical spoiled kid whos parents are important (leader and deputy) and ending up being a responsible adult who directs all her passsion into being VERY protective of her clan.

shes very similar on the great journey, and starts to rethink things after crowpaws death. she wanted to help with the sharpclaw but bramble, tawny, and night are all very against it because of the danger it poses to the royal family members. feathertail disregards this and when SHES in danger, squirrelpaw is still kept from helping because of her status, and crowpaw ends up dying without squirelpaw getting the chance to help.

shes very angry about this, and spends the rest of the journey home very quiet and very sulky. its only when they get back and she finds out shrewpaw died trying to feed the starving while she was off exploring. this drives her to change into someone who keeps others safe. although sometimes she can go a bit too far(i hc squirrelflight of having no self preservation, and even maybe a lil self destructive.)

HMMM let’s talk about animal fantasy books in general like wc or wof then bc that’s what i’ve read in the last few years just in general.

i love the concept of them a lot actually which is why i read them at all, its just really interesting to see from that point of view and since people use them for the weirdest magic plots that’s an extra bonus, but i really really wish more of them were well written bc some of them have really cool worldbuilding and structures the writers could really mess around with but either they don’t or they do it in really boring/weird ways. or they gotta have misogyny or racism or pedophilia in there or they will die bc writers just NEED to do that in their animal books for kids of course! or they’re just lame in general or boring. like i remember this magic fox book? i can’t remember the name but it was about a start in a series about a fox trying to find her brother and learning how to use magic and i was like :O bc that sounds AWESOME but i remember it being really clunky and dull so i couldn’t really get into the rest of the series. and i vaguely remember something really creepy happening in THAT too like can someone put a ring on these freaks? hit them with post it notes? keep them from writing kids books? god

I kind of like her if I’m honest, but it’s hard for me to empathize with her situation. Her relationship with Crowfeather is obviously toxic, and she isn’t complete victim in it. I feel she did have good intentions in the beginning but her coddling and excusing Breezepelt’s actions leads to terrible things (like trying to murder a medicine cat and pregnant queen). Her character makes me think of Amanda Palmer’s music (like Truce and Coin Operated Boy by The Dresden Dolls).Unpopular Opinion: I like her spiteful side and I wish it was expressed more in fan content.

🌹 - unpopular opinion, hmmm i think some characters get too much flack for shitty behavior when they are actually... traumatized. like ive seen people rag on ivypool and blossomfall for being way too moody because their situation “wasn’t even that bad” which sits. badly with me (breezepelt is a completely different story tho)

🥭 - opinion on starclan! i love the idea of a bunch of dead ancestors not being right all the time just because theyre dead, so theyre flawed characters who still hold a considerable amount of power over the living. HOWEVER the narrative often feels like they should be right anyways... because theyre dead. its bad writing bud

🍓 - a change the code could use, leaders word being law is dumb. i also dont like the med cat code very much but thats a little more complicated lol

VERY GOOD my fav mousewhisker ship if im being honest!! its mostly supplemental headcanon stuff cause they dont interact tooooo much in canon but like, that can be said for a lot of ships!
