Not too long ago Jack Smith and Daphne Stigers bumped into each other in Berlin and decided to collaborate in spite of their very different musical backgrounds. Jack had been making music since his early teens, releasing several albums as a rapper and producing countless Hip Hop, Soul and RnB tracks on his label Antifunk. Quite the contrary for Daphne Stigers, who spent her youth listening to guitar-heavy music, taking piano-lessons and singing in a school choir. It was only later when she discovered electronic devices which enabled her to capture her own ideas that her productions really moved forward. Together Jack and Daphne decided to bundle their creativity and divergent styles to form Mont Royal.

This particular Theatre of Delays remix slices and dices its way through this bittersweet electro ballad from Mont Royal. Blending smooth vocal harmonies, ethereal piano, and a hypnotic rhythm.

Mont Royal’s “Monster in Me” EP hits digital stores this Friday, July 4th via Killerrr Rec (Berlin), and is exclusively on Beatport until that time here.
