G’day gears’ today we’re gonna talk about gears of war.

this is gears, this is war, this is truly a masterpiece!
gears are badass soldiers like in the picture above, their names (from left to right): Marcus Fenix - the leader of this band of misfits, joking, leader of delta squad. next is Augustus Cole, a former player of Thrashball (planet sera’s equivalent of Football), Cole is one of the most likable yet racially stereotypical character in gamin’ history. Dominic Santiago is up next, the character with least backstory in the game. last is Damon Baird, he looks like a snowboarder but lemme tell you a secret: he is not!!!!!!!!!!! Damon Baird is the most annoying character, always reminding you of him outsmarting everybody else, and also a lot of trash talking, Damon Baird is a true computer whiz. and these are the 4 main protagonists.
gears was developed by Epic studios in cooperation with Microsoft.
one of the key elements of the game is the cover system which was an innovation in the shooter genre. the cover system lets the player (and other characters) get into cover or basically slam yourself into the nearest waist high object to avoid damage.
as you can see here, these gears of the COG (a faction of the humans in the game) are fighting against monsters like the one in the middle. these monsters will be your tough as nails enemies throughout the game. these monsters are called Locust due to there sheer numbers and their world record in ugly (quoting Cole). the setting is on a fictional planet called Sera in a time which is never addressed. the gameplay is so fun, simple and gory that I can assure you, you will have nightmares.
the genre of the game is between TPS (third person shooter - the perspective is from behind the shoulder or above the head) and horror, inferring from all those jump-scares I encountered.
this is a must play game for Xbox owners!
