It’s frightening to think I could live out my time without anyone seeing the galaxies that exist beneath my skin, that no one will ever look at me as if I’m illuminated from within by starlight, that no one will desire to unravel my hidden constellations, that I will burn out as nothing more than a passing asteroid. Pretty to watch as it flies by but untouchable and only a brief glimpse of the light that hardly leaves a lasting impression.
