what would be ours?
To.
You
—who constantly makes me question whether I really know you or not
---
Dear you,
Do you know how much I’m glad you insisted we make an extra effort for that one photobox picture?
I knew how sleepy you were at that time so I wasn’t in any intention to counteract if ever you want to end the night without having it—the perks of being cashless kids, huh?
But instead—and honestly to my surprise, you said it’d be a loss for that night’s memories, so we ended up going here and there to find an ATM—which of course had to only issue the cash of 100k, then did some impulsive buying so that we could get our hand on the 50k one—hahaha, what a memory.
I’m glad because I used to think—lots of times—that it would be the only picture we took of us two. Together.
Right, it wasn’t anything near a walk in a park for us to get to where we are today.
You and I—we—both know that.
Quite well.
We may still be in the stage of being nobody to each other but in these intertwined circles of our lives, I’ve gotten to know the very taste of walking on the glass shreds—which unknowingly, was also the exact reason for the poignant sensation that you used to bear in your silence.
I’m glad we’ve overcome those times.
We learned.
We mended what we could.
And it’s enough.
For now.
And may I wish for our journey to be a long one?
Am I allowed to say that what we went through was only the beginning and we still have a long way to go?
Do we really still have a long way to go?
To be honest, I can’t see where this would lead us to.
What exactly would be ours?
Will we end up fermenting these memories until they become bittersweet in the box of 'It’s been nice to know you, thank you, and goodbye'?
Or—
Would a happy ending story be ours instead?
