I was at Walmart running errands for my mom. As I was about to stand in line a man of older age comes from another direction and gets to the line before me. Of course I didn't mind as he only had one item in his hand and knew it would only take a couple minutes for him to check out. He realized that he may have possibly cut me so he offers me to go ahead. I denied and insisted he go first. He finishes up his transaction and lingers for a few moments as the cashier rings up my items. The total comes out to $3.92. I peer over to see the man give the cashier two cents. I didn't really understand what was going on and thought he was just giving the cashier two pennies. The man smiles at me and I return the favorable gesture. The cashier then gives me back my change evenly and says, "well he paid your two cents." I then realized what had really happened and was truly touched. I felt extremely guilty at that point that I had not realized and did not thank him. Sure it was only two cents, but this man who has never seen me before in his life paid some portion of my cost. It was so thoughtful and kind, it made the two cents seem like so much more. Kind people who do these small acts of kindness honestly make my day. It was so touching. Whoever you are, thank you for your kindness, and I apologize that I did not thank you. Keep spreading your kindness, you rock! <3
