It’s funny because I started writing about the issues that stem from the decision to make Kindred FX a multi-season show and the many other unnecessary changes they made, and I was agreeing with a lot of the criticism. But lately I’ve been seeing complaints about stuff that’s either straight from the book or that seem to miss the point. Things like “Dana should be transitioning smoothly because she knows about slavery from books and tv” or “I wouldn’t be selfish like Dana, I would do xyz better,” and it’s like. Yes some of Dana’s mistakes are a little too dumb to feel believable but at the same time? People thinking they have complete and accurate knowledge of slavery because of media and giving staunch moral judgements about how slaves behaved is literally what prompted the writing of the book. I don’t know, I might end up having to defend the show a little too.

Who else is watching Kindred? I knew this show would have me anxious just like the book.
watching kindred the acting is terrible it’s such a good plot and character idea even though I would’ve loved it more if they didn’t have the whole slave plot would’ve been way more fun if she went back in time to 20s 40s or 70s or any 1900 time actually just so sick and tired of the whole slave master America thing when it comes to shows with black characters or black storylines I’m sorry for my sister but she just so bad at it and the guy too also his character trash like how he just let that Sab lady with the foot just get taken and the way he ate like it was nothing being served like that made me sick how he didn’t seem to care one bit or feel weird or off about it all not even sympathy just seems very happy playing along as long he got his piano food and nice treatment!
the man as whole weird me out and her too for still sticking to him, should’ve left his a88 second he was rude calling her princess out of nowhere when he don’t know her like that or callin her my all of sudden redflag
just found out they're releasing a TV show adaptation of Octavia Butler's Kindred which is a great but it also means I will finally get canceled for shipping the main character with her racist, sexist, rapist great great grand father
