Last Friday, "classical rock star"* Joshua Roman joined KING-FM host Sean MacLean for a special episode of Northwest Focus Live celebrating Public Radio Music Month. The renowned cellist played Cello Suite No. 3 in C Major, BWV 1009: Gigue by Bach, which you can enjoy above.

Cellist Joshua Roman and Classical KING-FM host Sean MacLean dropped by New Day Northwest to perform a short jigging tune and talk about playing classical music in Uganda and the value of public radio to the classical community.
Joshua will perform live in-studio at KING-FM on Friday, April 27 at 8 PM (PDT) in honor of Public Radio Music Month. The performance will air on the show “Northwest Focus Live,” hosted by Sean. Learn more about the program here.
Many outside of Seattle identify the city’s music with the sounds of its grunge roots, but KING-FM is making noise on the classical end of the dial as well.
Tonight, as part of KING’s “Seattle Symphony Orchestra Spotlight,” Macedonian pianist Simon Trpceski will be performing Ravel’s Piano Concerto. Host Sean MacLean (above) takes listeners behind the scenes each week at Benaroya Hall for an inside look at the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and is regularly joined by the Symphony’s Music Director, Ludovic Morlot, for exclusive concert broadcasts.Â
