Who said “I love you” first : lance. he’s way more open with his feelings n grand, loud expressions of love... she absolutely didn’t believe him the first time tho n thought he was just being dramatic but when he said it more seriously to her it got through to her n shocked her cause lmao who loves her wtf who does that

Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background : i imagine lance would have like both lock screen n home screen with cass’ pic but also ?? they’d BOTH have pics on their home screen of the whole family, lance, cass, cat, kiera n baby astrid

Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror : lance does. he leaves a bunch of hearts n sappy poetic things n it absolutely melts cass’ entire heart but that’s hard for her to admit dhbajsdm

Who buys the other cheesy gifts : LANCE. im certain he’s always giving cass cheesy gifts n showering his love on her n she gets him things in return but they’re way more practical n things he’d like n can use hajskdm

Who initiated the first kiss : i’d like to say it was a mutual thing but im leaning more toward lance initiating but he respects her a lot so it’d be after she was definitely showing signs she’s very much wanted it so more a mutual, natural thing

Who kisses the other awake in the morning : lance. especially when he wakes up earlier to make her cute shaped pancakes n kisses her awake to give her breakfast in bed n the first time he did that she had no idea how to react because WHO DOES THAT ?? she’s never had that happen... 

Who starts tickle fights : lance tickles her n then has to run because she is coming for his LIFE. jokes on him tho she has the kids to help attack him back so :\\\

Who asks who if they can join the other in the shower : she likes to just sneak her way into showers with him but honestly he probably asks her to join anyway n she loves shower things with partners okay dhjakms

Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunch : definitely lance !! i can see him always bringing her things or setting out little picnics n bringing homemade things n it definitely always brightens her day

Who was nervous and shy on the first date : tbh probably both of them but it was definitely something lance planned out n cass was extremely nervous because of her anxieties n abandonment issues but he’s able to calm her down n get her laughing tbh

Who kills/takes out the spiders : cass without a doubt saves lance from spiders constantly -- although at first she did tease him with them n dangle them by the lil web n pretend to chase him with nonexistent spiders but... ykno it’s mostly just her saving him from spiders n putting them outside

Who loudly proclaims their love when they’re drunk : god this is...this is very much a lance thing !! he definitely drunkenly gets up on the table n shouts how much he loves cass n has definitely hit on her while he was drunk

Apparently Varian’s birthday was something that he typically spent alone, and while the witch was pretty much ‘celebrated’ hers in the same way, well... SHE WASN’T GOING TO LET THAT HAPPEN THIS YEAR. Lee had stopped by Monty and Attila’s shop, poking and prodding at them until they’d given her a half-dozen of Varian’s favorite cupcakes (which she had PAID FOR, of course, something she was incredibly proud of.) After that, she’d waited until almost sunset to go and get Varian himself, her gift for him tucked into the basket she carried with the cupcakes.

YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO TRUST ME was what she’d told Varian when she’d picked him up. She’d seriously considered blindfolding him, but... honestly, just semi-kidnapping him aboard Lava was probably enough. She’d snagged him from his house in Old Corona at sundown, promising Quirin she’d have him home before morning. It was a fairly short ride to one of the best views in the kingdom-- the castle, the water, and the stars all visible. 

The picnic spot was set up with just a flick of her wrist, the witch hopping off Lava and sitting down on the blanket she’d brought, pulling a cupcake out of the basket and offering it to Varian. “Y’know, your dad mentioned today was your birthday, ‘n I just-- I know we’ve been through some shit, so I... I just wanted t’ do somethin’ nice.”

Lava pushed the basket lid open, sticking her muzzle down inside, grabbing Varian’s present-- a brand new pair of goggles. “I swear I didn’t steal them,” Lee chuckled. “Y’ always complain your other ones are cracked. And we c’n stay out here as along as y’ like; I jus’ promised your dad we wouldn’t get into trouble.

      SOFT SIGH DRIPS OFF RED LIPS AS IF MARKING THE SPACE IN TIME CONTENT -- nestled comfortably in her husband’s lap, arms wrapped around her as she cradles their now sleeping baby in a moment of relaxation. fingers finding their way into black strands as head tilts blissfully into the gentle touch -- tension easily melting away to bring about peace in her form, slumped back against him as if she were simply a puzzle piece fitting so perfectly into him.

      soft, hushed words spoken between only them -- as if a breathe of relief, a statement in four words that screamed in silence that he is her home; this is home, this is where she’d wanted to be her whole life  (  part of something important -- important to someone, loved without strings attached, recognised for her skills but still treated as a woman rather than how everyone else, even her dad, treated her; as someone who is allowed to be soft, who is soft && told she doesn’t have to be ashamed of who she’d been keeping hidden for so long of her life: she can just be HER with him, with her new family  ).

I’m also gonna expand on the thought of Arianna going to see Varian when he’s in prison !! Varian being super resentful and angry and just absolutely blowing up and Arianna the first time he sees her. OH-- !! and ANOTHER THING-- what tf happened during/after Ready As I’ll Ever Be when Varian just... has Arianna there in his house. HER AUNT AND UNCLE WERE GOING to be so mad. It was the only through that kept coming back to the forefront of the child’s mind. They had emphasised how she was to stay with the guard, to stick to their side. And Elsa had tried her best, but the forest had been so pretty, so interesting, so unlike anything she’d ever seen before! Wandering off had been an accident, but acknowledging that didn’t get her back to her guide. 

The voice made her jump, only just holding onto her magic as she spun to face a strange lady. Hands curled protectively at her middle, shoulders hunching slightly. She had long abandoned the flowers she had been picking for her aunt, and her hands were empty. No money was kept on her person, there being no reason for a princess to carry coin. If anyone wished to rob her, they would find themselves lacking afterwards. But if someone recognised her, that was far more dangerous. 

Chewing on her lip, and looking closely at the stranger, Elsa decided to screw up her courage and speak to her. 

“I got lost,” she said, voice still soft. “Can you help me get back to the path, please?”

      THE SPARE : IT WAS ALWAYS A LOOMING PHRASE — something dark && threatening that hung over her head ever since she was little  (  even having been the only princess growing up — the ever looming word of spare was simply a guillotine blade hovering for once the lost princess was found && all her hard work would be thrown out  ). && it was the spare’s duty to be shipped off to princes of allied kingdoms for trade && a show of allegiance, wasn’t it ? it’d be good for both kingdoms to wed together — didn’t mean she had to like the idea of it.

       && she’d kept up a vaguely disinterested politeness she held for visiting royals && dignitaries — always one to keep up the charade of resigned, proper ladylike behaviour of a regal princess despite the way she was generally much rougher than most princesses. she matches what a princess should be when on duty — she’d paid attention in each lesson growing up — but she did always hold a stronger love for combat && a more active role in debates. it’s only when the two royals are left alone to acquaint with one another that she lets the facade of princess crack ever so slightly — lay down the rules of this, figure it out for THEM && not just for their kingdoms because they’ll need to make this work && she’d rather be the least amount of miserable she can when already having to displace her entire life && devout herself to someone she doesn’t even know.

      ❝   look — i’m not happy with this && i doubt you are either. but...sometimes we have to take a bullet for our kingdoms && i guess...this is the bullet, huh ?  ❞        a pause, eyes rolling as she glances away from him — breath taken in then exhaled slowly.        ❝   i guess — i don’t know — i’m willing to make the best of this if you are. && we could always just...make certain behind the scenes agreements && just keep a public image if it doesn’t pan out.     ❞

HE’S TRYING TO KEEP HIS BREATHING STEADY. There’s a PAIN in his side that wasn’t there a few seconds ago, and it’s so EXCRUCIATING that he’s starting to see STARS. (Clearly that’s not good.)

Gloved hands cling to Eugene, somehow managing to keep himself upright, though his knees are BEGINNING TO BUCKLE. The boy is SHAKING, forehead pressed to Eugene’s chest; his eyes are squinted shut, mouth twisted into a grimace.

“I’m-- I’m oKAY. Fine-- No-- Nono, wait--” A hand presses to his vest, dripping with blood as he pulls it away. Oh, GREAT. “Y’know what? I don’t think I’m fine anymore.”
