Kiragi didn’t stir for a long moment, his body still enough that he seemed as if he might have died to someone not paying attention. Then, the slight flicker of lashes, just for the briefest second. He tried to stay conscious, but for some reason, his head hurt, and going back to sleep was so tempting…
Ah. Right. He’d fallen. He could hear Asugi’s shouting, his name, and Kiragi forced his eyes open. His right arm felt entirely numb. He flicked his gaze to Asugi, and forced a weak smile on.
“Hey… Asugi,” He realized he sounded off, and tried again, “Hey, Asugi… I can hear you,” Then, he tensed and tried to push himself up, “Wait– where are they?! Someone was–” Kiragi gripped the back of his head and laid back down, his right arm unresponsive, “… Someone chased me,”
So that confirmed his suspicions, then. Asugi felt his blood run cold as he began fashioning crude bandages and splints from his clothes and pieces of driftwood he found laying around on the sandy, rocky beach they now found themselves on.
Once he was sure his spine and neck were relatively safe to move around, he pressed a bottle of vulnerary to the boy’s lips with a quiet whisper. “Skipper, please drink this... We might not have much time -- I need to get you back to camp safe and sound, okay?” came the urgent words.
“I’ll protect you. Don’t worry. Just drink...”
