Good morning, art lovers. I give to you, this chilly November morning, screenshots from the ceaselessly sultry #QueenSugar. S/o to @Ava DuVernay for the gift that is this show, s/o to her cinematographers for making EVERY shot a moving picture, for somehow capturing that Louisiana humidity and the way it makes black skin glow. THIS is how you film melanin. . Also, can we just pause for a minute and mediate on the symmetry between those last shots of Ralph Angel (@kofisiriboe) and Blue in last night’s episode? What’s it mean, in light of Darla’s revelation, and WHAT was it Blue found at the very end of the episode as credits rolled?!!!! Also, can we just appreciate that we get to live in a time where we get to see @rutina_wesley look SO INCREDIBLY GLOWED UP every episode? I watched that scene twice, marveling that anyone could be so radiant, mA. #MELANIN .
