Kirito/Lisbeth AU, anyone?

Hey, guys! I thought up an idea for a Kirito/Lisbeth AU this morning, but I don’t really know if anyone would be interested. So, I’m making this post!

Be aware that it does heavily involve my headcanon backstory for Lisbeth/Rika, so be sure to read that first! Thank you!

Anyway, here it is:

What if Kirito found out about Lis' illness when they first met, in the dragon's nest? Her coughing fit might start early in the morning after their holding-hands sleep, but because she doesn’t want to wake him and have him discover her secret, she moves as far away from him as she can and lets the (literal) blood fly. (This coughing episode might be worse than usual because of their long fall and brutal collision with the ground, even if Kirito took the brunt of the damage).

Kirito, though, with his hearing and noticing her hand isn't in his anymore, wakes up to investigate. He's worried when he sees her coughing, even more when he thinks he sees tears falling, but when he sees the large pool of blood in the snow at her knees, he rushes over to her (accidentally scaring her half to death and making it worse). When it's finally over, she can't hold herself up, but he's right there to catch her. She takes some comfort in his warmth, but she's terrified of what's going to happen now that her secret’s out.

The entirety of the SAO storyline could change and evolve both drastically and beautifully from there!

Kirito lay on the 23rd floor, surrounded by a meadow with a single, large tree. He had just finished another run to gather materials to repair his equipment for the next dungeon clear scheduled for the upcoming weeks and decided to take a nap. Mumbling a bit in his sleep, he tossed a bit to his side in order to deflect some of the chilling wind that blew.
