Blog of Art: As it pertains to style.
Lee’o’broja boy for style and light practice. No matter how I try, my art remains crispy, graphic, and colourful.
I watched some art youtubers recently, and they talked about their art evolution, and how some top online artists did light and colour effects.
It made me wonder if I wanted a different art style.
it made me question my improvement.
It made me upset no one knows my art exists, and that there are younger more talented then me. like my art is meaningless, and invisible.
Then my twin said that me from ten years ago, would have killed to get fan art from current me. Which led me to ponder something I think younger artists don’t hear enough about: Being satisfied with your art style.
I have spent my whole life trying to perfect a highly rendered, colourful, graffiti inspired, and manga esc, art style. I do character concepts and illustrations, because I love to design and tell stories. I don’t have to make master work of art worthy of thousands of favourites, commissions, or placement in a gallery.
I should love my art style. I don’t have too, or want to, make art exactly like another artist; That is what they contribute to world. I want to use the inspiration and awe they give me, to fuel me trying new things in a positive way. I want to inspire and contribute in my own way; with art that tells my creative journey. To strive to be better, while enjoying the fruits of my labor.
It’s not perfect, and it’s not exactly what I was going for. But it’s not entirely bad, and it is certainly something.
