Kit is in good shape, but he’s no match for his four legged friend, who is dead set on a children’s soccer practice. Sprinting after Cinnabon, he waves his arms to try and catch the players’s attention, or at least their coach’s. Suddenly, though, the German Shepard is tumbling over the ball, holding it carefully and wagging her tail with pride as she brings it to Kit. “I’m so sorry,” he pants, taking the slobbery mess out of the dog’s mouth and carefully handing it to the other gentleman. “She’s... excited. I’m so sorry if she ruined it. Then again, she might not have, ‘cause she’s been taught to be more gentle with things...” He looks down at the animal, who is currently staring at the stranger with the ball, sitting at attention.

“Wait for me to come home,” he whispers, holding the other boy close. God, he really didn’t want to go on this deployment, and so close to the holidays. But that was Kit’s job, and he had to deal with it.
