so you know how i said i was gonna go back to the c-store right? well, i did. after midnight, which i didn't expect to e a probably because i thought that i was seen as a resident in the Ncard system now and i was, apparently, wrong.
Now, i am wearing a thin-ish scrub top, jeans, and open toed wedges because i did not expect to go outside
there's a door seperating the c-store area from the main lobby of the north building, which you need your Ncard to open. which was kind of my first 'oh shit moment', when it didn't unlock for me after i scaned my card
so, can;t get into the basement tunnel and no one is here (also the dark room with a fireplace? locked
i did the dumbest thing i could do and tried to test the door leading outside, and i ended up shutting the interior door. now i'm in the little weird rooms between inside and outside, and locked out.
I kinda hoped i could maybe unlock my building? So i walked over there and nope, ding dong kit was wrong. i am outside and locked out and it;s cold as heck and i don;t have a phone to call for someone to let me in and no one is at the front desk and okay yeah i'm kinda sorta fucked
will i spend all night in the cold inbetween, protection-from-weather-while-you-scan-in rooms?
i took a huge risk and went back out, seeing two first floor patio apartments with lights on. walked to the one closest to me, slipped on ice because i kinda ran, knocked on their door, i was wrong no one is home.
run to the next place, but careful when i reached the pavement so i wouldn't fall on ice again, and knocked, this time more hopeful because blinds were open and i could see like, a kitchen and living room and hall light on., and i knocked, and waited a second, and someone came around the corner. he had a like 'oh god what did u do this is gonna be a sotry' look, and opened and i asked if his card could open the door and no other questions just went and got his card and let me in, and i explained as we walked to the door that i just moved to this dorm and i guess i was still not allowed in past midnight, and so he scanned me in and i am in my room and will probably never go out past midnight again, at least without my phone
bless kind strangers though i literally knocked on his window past midnight in a winter storm on a mostly deserted campus
and that is kit's new story, which involves cold toes and asking for help mostly because i was desperate, and also is probably why my wrist hurts seeing as i fell on it
