Painted another buddy's Creature on my face! I've been in love with @dross-the-fish ‘s Adam for YEEEEEARS, and he's currently writing a fantastic story about what the Creature got up to in 1918 when he returned to the Frankenstein manor (hence the snazzy haircut). (He also meets and befriends other famous characters from Gothic lit in the process, and it's just excellent fun all around.)
I think Dross NAILED the, "I had selected his features to be beautiful but oh, no, oh, god, it's so upsetting now that they're moving and alive" thing Victor talks about in the book. For me, that's key to any good Creature design--something about him has to be compelling and beautiful AND incredibly creepy and uncanny valley.
I especially LOVE his snarled lip, which, in the story Dross is writing, is part of a bigger bit of nerve damage or SOMEthing Victor didn't get right, because it results in that half of his face being partially paralyzed. So you get all of Dross' gorgeous artwork featuring Adam with the most emotive eyes on the planet, since part of his face is kind of immobile.
Dross, you rock so hard. Kiss your eight foot-tall son on the head for me, please (you'll need a ladder).
