Free Day
"I do know how to kill someone to save my own life."
"Do you?"
"His name was Elidibus--I never even knew his real name--and I loved him. No, I love him. I love him, and I killed him to save the world."
"I'm sorry."
"Me too."

Privacy/Friendship
He does not like the way her friend speaks to her.
Sid could make him leave, but she says she has this, and she needs to learn to stand on her own. He can't protect her forever, and she wouldn't thank him anyway.
She does not want her friend here, and she's said as much. Yet he tells her he loves her, then scolds her like a child about this Elidibus.
Sid knows she's not his to defend, and one day she, too, will leave him. To go back to these friends who seem to not respect her. So he has to help her find her voice now. It and her training are all he has to offer.
She's attuned to the darkness, just like him. Maybe it will help her, too.
Dream/Sorrow
She never speaks her lost lover's name, but whimpers Elidibus in her sleep. He doesn't talk about Fray at all. Whatever nightmare wakes her, screaming, night after night, he's relieved he can finally help someone.
Free Day
Once in a while they got things right, maybe.
It wasn't like either of them had what resembled a normal Eorzean childhood. It mattered that they tried, and it mattered that for her nameday, Rielle seemed happy.
Shadow/Desire
They were both under a long-reaching shadow of grief, afraid that indulging any new desire was a disservice to their lost lovers.
"This only needs to be what we need it to be, for as long as we need it."
Introduction/Soft
I've decided I'm gonna exploit the overlap of Au Ra April and VierApril for my own bullshit. I'm in the middle of my EW fic where things are gonna get awful before they get better for Kit, and still a little wistful about what Kit and Sid had in Living Dead Girl, so you get to witness my nonsense.
They had a rough start! Kit is too cavalier about her own mortality. Sidurgu has survived two genocides and watched loved one after loved one cut down in front of him. He doesn't know what an Ascian is, doesn't understand primals, and doesn't give a fuck that she's the Warrior of Light.
If she wants his help, she is going to be more careful. There are lots of ways a mortal can die, even an Eikon Slayer, in a world where even gods can be killed.
Color/Honor
"You can keep your foolish honor, Kit, or you can keep your life. I know which I choose. What of you?"
