"It isn't that I don't want to help him." She was quick to make this a major point, taking a quiet breath and gazing over toward him. "I have tried to help him already. He refuses assistance, and he seems to hold more concern over the rest of you than himself. The only way to get to him would be to reassure him that all of you are okay, first."
Taking a breath, she moved her bangs away from her face. "You are the youngest and have so much of your life left to live. Obi always seems so somber when he talks about you. He wants you to be able to fight and win against this, just as much as I want to."
Maika looked him in the eye after that. "I have helped Sissy, and that is all the proof I can offer currently. But she is stable, living on her own, and has a job that she loves and can live off. She wants to be the middle ground between myself and the world for you and the others. She works so hard so that she can help when the time comes, and she has already been told that I want to help you next. She seemed really excited about it, she cares a lot about you."
