How long have you been a part of the CS fandom?

I joined fandom summer of ‘16 after bingeing all 4 1/2 seasons the summer and fall of ‘15. I watched 5b week to week and couldn’t get enough of CS when the season was over, so after a Google search, I found a Facebook page dedicated to them and joined it, followed by making my Tumblr account in August.

What is your favorite part about fandom?

The relationships. My very best friends in the world were met through fandom and I can’t imagine my life without them!

What drew you to this event?

It’s my baby!!! After a discussion with @snowbellewells in the fall of ‘17 about the WOEFUL lack of werewolf Killian fics out there, the idea was born. After a series of discussions with @winterbaby89 and @hollyethecurious, I gauged interest in a supernatural themed event and was BLOWN AWAY by the response!!! Summer of ‘18 was our inaugural year, and it has been a FANTASTIC run!! I’m very excited to see what everyone involved comes up with this summer for our final year!

Will you be participating either as a writer or artist? If so, what will you be doing?

Both!!! I have two OS's written- the first very loosely inspired by Dracula and the other a werewolf fic. I figured since it was the last year, it was appropriate to write fics featuring the original inspirations for the event!!! I'll also be doing art for Joni!

What do you do in your "real life?"

I’m a retired homeschool mom, but I haven’t worked outside the home since my first child was born 26yrs ago. Now, with my kids all grown, I’m more of a life coach than anything.

What are you most looking forward to in this event?

All the new supernatural content, of course!!!

This has been a spectacular event for many years Krystal, and we're looking forward to both of your stories on July 3 and Aug 22 and your art!

CSFRM: "Somewhere Out There" by: @kmomof4

Okay, it's later in the day than I had hoped, but I want to get back into the habit of doing recs for CS Fic Rec Monday. There are SO MANY amazing writers and stories in this fandom. It's literally a treasure trove worthy of our favorite pirate!! So I really want to do my part to sing the praises of stories of enjoyed, both new and old, and maybe bring them to others' attention as well. :)

First up this week: "Somewhere Out There" by: @kmomof4

I don't know how I missed discovering this fic back when Krystal first posted it, but it is INCREDIBLE! In just a two shot, she manages to do so much, and do it well. I couldn't put it down!! We get so many things I really wanted in canon too: a CS TLK, the cliffhanger of 3a ending with them all in the EF, surprise twists, adventure, steamy romance, and of course, a happily ever after. :)

How long have you been writing or arting? When did you start creating for CS?

I started writing in Feb of '19 after being a member of fandom for nearly three years. I made my first pic set later that year. CS is the only fandom I've made art for except for that first pic set, a set for kymbersmith-90's Bishmont fic- Peur et Désir, and a birthday gift for therealstartraveller earlier this year featuring Lokane.

Can we have a little sneak peek or synopsis of your story? Pretty please?

Mine a little canon divergence from the Neverland kiss. *smirk* It's already written and I can't WAIT to share it!!!!

3B canon divergence, please!!!

alright, alright

this is definitely an idea that's in the first stages because i have a bunch written but i've been going about it according to 3B episodes (basically like watching the eps and figuring out what would change)

in this divergence, emma doesn't go to new york with henry, someone else does - i'm sure you can guess who ;)

i'm nowhere near confident enough to start my edits but i have something to sweeten your palate

“For the last order of business,” Doc’s voice was starting to give Emma a headache. As much as she was excited to be a part of an actual War Council, she was half expecting it to be much more interesting than disgruntled subjects and celebrations. “The Jolly Roger was sighted in Glowerhaven causing trouble with the local guard.”

At the mention of Killian’s ship, Emma quickly fixed her posture - from bored royal to eager teen - and she was almost not ashamed of it. Her eyes followed everyone trying to see their reactions, she hoped her parents would urge someone to check it out. She also vehemently ignores her mother’s amused look.

“Someone must have commandeered his ship. No doubt some other pirate. Glowerhaven is Prince Eric’s kingdom, I’m sure he has a plan set up.” Her father’s sound argument still managed to make her shoulders slouch.

“Actually, Your Highness, these reports are weeks old and there hasn’t been any further update.” No matter how much she disliked the dwarf, Grumpy had just given her hope.

“I could go there and check it out.” Emma suggested trying and probably failing, according to her mother’s gaze, to sound as neutral as possible.

“Emma-”

“It’s the least I can do for what Killian did for us. Plus, I have my magic and even you said I was good with a sword.”

“I think that’s a great idea, honey.” She could kiss her mother. “Killian does deserve our help even if it’s just with his ship.”

David’s sigh signaled her victory. “Alright, you’ll go but if you run into troubl-”

“I’ll send a bird.” Emma’s smile was blinding. “I do have to put all this training to the test, after all.” ( i'll be honest it was hard finding an excerpt worthy of sharing, they are either way too unedited or give out a bit too much that i wanna keep in my back pocket ;) in any case, i hope it gets you curious ! )

Happiest of birthdays for my favorite squealer, best motivator, and the top reason I haven't quit writing even when I feel like it, @kmomof4

I'm not great at expressing my feelings, sometimes I get quiet and stop talking for a while, but this lady is definitely something special and I don't think she realizes how much she has meant to me in the last year. Reaching out to a nobody in the fandom and making them feel like a friend is a treasure.

I hope your birthday is as amazing as you are!

Witness protection, please!

I wrote 5k of this in one night and got stuck when it became time to write the smut lol! Basically, Killian is in witness protection and is sent to Storybrooke. That’s all I’ll share because spoilers!

He’s making an effort not to become the town drunk.

His father was the town drunk, and he’s always hated his father.

So when he goes to the Rabbit Hole, he likes to keep it to once a week, maybe less. He likes to keep it to two drinks, maybe three. He likes to keep control over himself so that no one in this tiny place starts to see him as the town drunk. They already see him as the strange, handless recluse, and he doesn’t feel the need to move into town drunk-territory.

But when he walks into the Rabbit Hole that night, just a few months after his arrival, he considers changing his ways if only in response to seeing the stunning, glowing blonde behind the bar for the first time.
