Making dumplings from scratch today. Met someone earlier who recognized Kaita's dogs (kind of) when I was out walking them and kept asking me if I know her or something. They got really excited. I think I've met more of the fan club.

For the sake of venting, talk about one bad thing that happened in 2014, how it could have gone better, or what you learned from it. Then to end on a good note, talk about five good things that happened. Don’t forget to tag some friends.

Bran tagged me to do this a few days(?) ago, and I dithered for ages over whether or not to do it, but honestly I may as well. I'll tag Kaita to do this too, but she doesn't have to and anyone who wants to is free to do it too.

Christ, let's talk about 2014.

One bad thing.

I don't think I need to specify the event or anything, no one is under any illusions over what it is. What could have gone better? All of it, honestly. The entire set up itself could have been most likely entirely avoided through more thorough personal decision making, less attempts to try to "look after" other people, and just kind of ot letting myself get caught up on perceived loneliness - which led to the former two in the first place. If I look back, I essentially thought spending time with someone else, no matter what we were up to, would get rid of whatever bad feelings I had...which resulted in us fucking about in the midst of enough coincidences to land us in the whole A51 situation.

There's many other things I could have done better before that point anyway, that would have prevented what happened, but it's honestly tiring to think about.

I suppose, after that point, that I could have worked harder to improve matters rather than rely on other people to fix things. There's plenty of things I could have done/could do to make things easier on other people, or improve the situation, or at least make up for my mistakes. I guess what I have learnt is that I'm obviously not as reliable or capable as I thought I was. I've learnt (again) to trust less, and that I'm going to have to work harder on actually being a friend this year. Really do rather suppose I have nowhere but up from here.

Five good things.

I started this year without Bran as a friend and that rebuilt itself slowly. I'm grateful for that. It would have been awful to continue without them.

Achieved life goal of post-graduation me to own a funeral home, rather that just direct/manage for someone else. It's even architecturally pretty. Technically, I still own it. I just don't currently see any profits. I hope it's still doing okay.

NBC Hannibal season two.

All of the above things are pre-September and I feel like that kind of negates things a bit, if that makes sense. Post-September, a good thing was...actually this Christmas was pretty good. I had company, it was quiet and almost devoid of stress, so. On all accounts, better than I could have hoped for.

I'm getting along okay with Kaita's dogs, and, given my track record with dogs, I didn't really anticipate that. It's probably food orientated, but they seem to like me back, so. It's something.

That will have to do. Hopefully 2015 will be better, because, goddamn, 2014 was shit.
