The McMash Clan - Swing Break I was recently lamenting the fact that not enough tracks involve people clicking their fingers. And then Circus Records delivered The McMash Clan's Swing Break Without a doubt, this is the most fun original track I've heard in quite a long time. In fact, this track was the whole reason I wanted to do a Circus Records Week. See, I planned this party around a purpose: Making you hear this track. Somehow, even when it goes into the 110bpm dubstep, it never loses that 1920's swing feel. It's just so damn bouncey. I want to learn the Charleston exclusively to dance to this tune. Thus concludes Circus Records week. Let's be honest though, if they keep putting out stuff like Swing Break out, I'll probably do a second Circus Records week by accident. Borgore - Sonata In F Major Somehow, I'm still surprised by Borgore. This is a man that has gained a reputation for making an absolute mess of every gig he's played in Melbourne. Yet, Sonata In F Major is a track that shows a maturity and depth you would never expect from a man that has, in the past, rapped about considering anal sex with a dog out of loneliness. That breakdown is absolutely beautiful. It's just so warm that you lose the grit on that harsh synth playing the part and you get left with this really uplifting feeling. Then the drop, although initially a little out of place feeling, manages to balance out and perfectly compliment it. Yet, somehow, it still has that messy, nasty, grimey feel too it. It wouldn't be a Borgore track without it. Borgore planking on a bunch of ladies.

Flux Pavilion - Standing On A Hill So, in typical fashion for this blog, Wubsday has fallen on a Friday somehow. But be glad that it has, because those two extra days allowed me to find this new track from Circus Records' don Flux Pavilion. This guy is, in my mind, the biggest innovator on the dubstep scene right now. With this latest release (which is a freebie, click the download link) Flux flexes his vocal talents; something we've been seeing more of ever since Blow the Roof EP. This is definitely a good thing. The drop isn't as hard as you'd expect from the man that brought us Bass Cannon; however, it's exactly what you'd expect from the man that brought us Starlight and Haunt You. This is one of his strongest tracks to date; definitely worth the ten seconds it'll take to download it. Because, yeah, once again, it's free. Joshua "Flux Pavilion" Steele; just chilling out.

Modestep - Saved The World So, it's been exactly six months since Evolution Theory came out and it's still my favourite album of the year so far. Modestep created a spectacular album that ranges the whole emotional spectrum. Nowhere is that more evident than with Saved The World. I almost cried with joy the first time I got to Saved The World on the album. This track closes out the album perfectly. It's soft and introspective and not even the drop really changes that vibe. The Bloody Beetroots ft Paul McCartney & Youth First some house-keeping. Thanks, to a uni assignment, Wubsday and Subsday are back!. Get ready for the return of your bi-weekly dosage of dubstep! Secondly, yes, that Paul McCartney. No, seriously, it's a dubstep track with one of The Beatles singing on it. I'll make no attempt to hide the fact that The Bloody Beetroots are my favourite band. However, even with an objective opinion, it's hard to argue against the fact that everything they've done in the lead up to Hide, the follow up to Romborama, has been spectacular. This track, The Beetroots' first dubstep release, just eclipses them all. It started out as a remix but Paul loved it so much he insisted on re-recording the vocals and making this the main track. I have no idea what the original vocals sounded like; but the painful, anguished growl McCartney puts into this track are completely unlike the softer tones we're used to from the rock legend. But it's the track underneath that really sets it for me though. The emotional range of this track, from the softer, soulful piano breakdowns all the way to the heavy, headbang-worthy drop, is astronomically huge. I cannot wait for the album, Hide, to drop in September.

THE SECOND ANNUAL KNIGHTSANSARMOUR DUBSTEP TOP 10!!!! 1. Modestep - Show Me A Sign Dubstep is musically similar to metal. It contains similar elements playing similar roles and, in the end, aims for a similar effect. It was inevitable that Modestep would happen. They are everything that makes both genres amazing. They are even better live. Their album, which was HEAVILY (and heartbreakingly) delayed, is finally coming out. And, with Show Me Sign on it, there is no doubt in my mind that Modestep are going to become household names... at least in the dubstep community. Even better, the boys in the band seem like genuinely great, down to earth guys. They honestly deserve everything that's coming their way.

THE SECOND ANNUAL KNIGHTSANSARMOUR DUBSTEP TOP 10!!!! 6. Adam F - When The Rain Is Gone (Delta Heavy Remix) What a year it's been for Delta Heavy. The duo's Down The Rabbit Hole EP was sheer brilliance. They've been pumping out some HUGE remixes for some of the biggest acts on the planet.  The biggest of these remixes is the monster currently smashing your eardrums. Adam F put together a killer of a track with the original but Delta take it and turn it into a slayer. It's a masterpiece from a technical standpoint too. It really earned the number 6 spot.  Also, crazy little factoid, this is the first remix to make it into my top ten this year. There's another two in there, but I just thought it's interesting that for a year dominated by so many remixes, the top ten are mostly originals.
