yes, because I am just a techno wizard, and I should suddenly be able to translate what the fuck this sentence means  “The most common access point/wireless router method of allocating IP addresses to network devices is using DCHP - which means that IP addresses are allocated automatically and are dynamic.” IF THEY’RE DYNAMIC THEN HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT THEY FUCKING ARE

Eurovision pretty much represents everything I love about the world: overwhelming levels of kitsch and glitter and excitement and tongue-in-cheek earnestness (you cannot get to the Eurovision finals without really really really selling your performance as the greatest song ever to be performed ever), but then also sociological and political commentary about alliances between countries and what important issues of the day are represented by what countries and who gives what points to whom? 

And also ridiculous songs you can belt in the shower. 

I am currently trying to figure out what munchies I should eat during it...

There’s a book con in NYC next weekend where several authors I want to meet will be. But all of the books I would want them to sign are packed in numerous boxes in my parents’ garage from moving.

I just feel kind of off balance and slightly icky. I do not like wanting to read one of my books and not being able to. It’s like... a thing. I think I’m having a thing right now. And not in a good way.

Darren’s concert in Paris was a huge Narnian fandom gathering. I had the luck of meeting not only januarium but also vampireisabitstrong for the first time, and seeing Mes Parisiennes ( hazelandglasz and znks and missmardybum) and my darling dear girl whisperyvoices and a whole host of fandom people who I positively shrieked with happiness at and flung myself at them to give them a hug. ( Our vosje can attest to this, as I think I yelled “I KNOW YOUR FACE BUT I CAN’T PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME!!” and then just gave her a huge hug before she could really say much of anything. (sorry, Vosje. I couldn’t help it!) (Also, just for the record, that girl is *tall*. And *gorgeous*. Like, goddess-gorgeous.))

Anyway, post-concert, I was high on life and full of love and hyper as all hell, and the walk back to the Metro with a huge crowd of rowdy Darren fans, and Whis and I were lucky enough to stay at Znks’ apartment. And the three of us just got into slumber-party mode, and started laughing and talking, and I was really trying to impress on them the magnitude and momentousness of Darren (as Hedwig) giving an audience member a carwash. Because, gracious, that boy sweats. A lot. Like, a lotta lot, and, at 3am, I was very very concerned about how they were going to keep all that sweat from all his....body parts....in any sort of tidy or anti-perspirant sort of way. So, I explained that concern. In great detail.

Znks, mind you, was more concerned with Darren’s thighs in fishnets. So, I would shriek SWEATY BALLS and she would shriek FISHNETS and the three of us would dissolve into helpless laughter. 

I mean, we talked about other things, as well. But, we always came back around to discussing Sweaty balls and fishnets. 

AND, not a single drop of alcohol was imbibed. Crazy stupid raucous laughter and staying up until all hours of the night...just high on how much we love that damn boy.
