1. Whole Wide World - Cage The Elephant This song just has this attractive jumpy energy to it and I love how similar the voice of Matt Shultz of Cage The Elephant is to that of Jack B Dolan of Twin Peaks, is rad.
2. Dum Surfer - King Krule This has all the elements that make King Krule such an interesting songwriter, guitar player, singer, etc. Its dark groovy retro.
3. Come For Me-Twin Peaks One word: Classic. Its an awesome track by an amazing band who’s had one hell of a year. What’s not to love?
4. Trouble- Grapetooth Amazing new project from Clay Frankel of Twin Peaks. Everyone’s gotta check it out.
5. Rich Kids by The Drums It’s a working class, brutal display of why rock, pop, and a punk attitude will always be everlasting. In love with the guitar work on this whole record.
6. Tezeta by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Mild High Club This track has that swinging 60s vibe mixed, very psychedelic.
7. Stars by Knox Fortune Its like modern Jackson Five...but better.
8. Still Beating by Mac Demarco One of my favorites of the year because its a no frills straight up piece of genius work by the one and only Mac.
9. Stay Young by Ne-Hi Just saw this band recently and they absolutely are killer live.... solid all around great rock n roll band, some of the best guitar work from a band period!
10. You and Me by Whitney Demo by Whitney, brilliant track that showcases their nostalgic sound and timeless aurora. Much love to Whitney.
11. Eagle Beach by White Reaper Nice and hearty rock n roll, everyone needs to get their serving.
12. Studmuffin96 by Alex Cameron The whole forced witness album that he came out with this year has all these really vibrant and at the same time shady characters. This song is like looking through the lens of a shady dude for a bit. The song has this sound that sounds like a serious version of a John Hughes movie or something.
13. Need You by Sam Evian Legendary guitar work by Sam and this song is just classic 70s, timelessness.
14. Ladies Don’t Play Guitar by Tennis Speaking of the 70s and timelessness, this is a deep and powerful melding of both rock and disco.
15. Dark Red by Steve Lacy That drum beat with the constant ride, beautiful melodies and guitar work this song by Steve Lacy shines shines shines!
16. Mourning Sound by Grizzly Bear You will definitely have goosebumps by the time Daniel Rossen comes in on vocals I guarantee it. This song is MOOD heavy.
17. Come To Me Now by Kevin Morby Kevin delivers an instant classic with this one really sealing the deal every second of it. The lyrics are like scenery you can just fuckin’ chew while listening mmm!
