Week 11: Mi Yuting v. Gu Li
To round out this week, we have another game with helpful commentary from GoGameGuru. This time, Mi Yuting (9P) is the one playing Black with the Chinese opening, while Gu Li (9P), has White with the Kobayashi.

Week 11: An Joyeong v. Yun Junsang
Today’s game offers something a little different. Even though it initially looks like it will develop along similar lines to the rest of the week’s games, Yun Junsang (9P) makes an interesting choice at move 10. Instead of continuing to develop his Kobayashi framework, he decides to come back and invade the hoshi stone of the Chinese framework that An Joyeong (9P) built. This sends the game in a completely different direction.
Week 11: Kim Dongho v. Choi Myeonghun
Today’s players might be a bit less well known, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to learn from their play. Both Kim Dongho (2P) and Choi Myeonghun (9P) are Korean professionals, and in this game, they continue to show the interesting intersection of the Chinese fuseki and the Kobayashi framework.
Week 11: Cho U v. Kato Atsushi
One idea that we haven’t looked at yet (but that I hope to turn to in the near future) is how White can limit the Chinese fuseki without invading. Today’s game between Cho U (9P) and Kato Atsushi (9P) should give you a preview of how that can happen, in addition to continuing our review of the Kobayashi framework.
Week 11: Cho Hanseung v. Yun Seonghyeon
Don’t forget that there are also different ways for the Kobayashi framework to be used. Here, Yun Seonghyeon (9P) shows us one of the influence-oriented variations that we previously examined. You’ll also get a chance to see something a bit different in response to his invasion of the Chinese framework too. This just goes to show how much variation is possible in Go.
Week 11: Lee Yeongkyu v. Kim Jiseok
For those of you paying attention during Week 9, you’ll recall that, in response to an invasion of the Chinese framework, Black has a number of options. Yesterday, we saw the most common response, but today, Lee Yeonkyu (8P) shows another one of the options we examined against Kim Jiseok (7P). Enjoy!
Week 11: Chinese v. Kobayashi (Wang Xi v. Tuo Jiaxi)
This week will be a bit of a test to see how well you’ve been paying attention, because it’s going to combine a number of previously examined concepts.
Instead of invading the corner, as we saw last week, White could pull back instead. But when White does so and has a 3-4 stone in the upper left, you’ll notice something interesting...
White's triangled stones have made the Kobayashi framework that we looked at in Week 6 and Week 7. Black will then have to deal with this, and after that’s done, White may still be left trying to invade the Chinese framework (around A), as we saw in Week 8. I hope you’re ready.

Today’s game combines a few of the concepts we’ve seen this week. Yoda Norimoto (9P) chooses the high pincer from the last few games.
