When Nanami was stressed out, she tended to play class-based strategy MMOs for hours on end. It took all of her brain power to keep track of the various quests and skill progression, so there was no room left for her to worry about whatever was causing the stress. Plus, a few back-to-back campaigns usually made her so tired that she couldn’t think about anything except sleeping for the rest of her life.
Suddenly waking up after... well, everything that had happened at Jabberwock Island--that was probably the most stressed she’d ever felt. Of course she was going to game until she couldn’t keep her eyes open. And of course she wasn’t going to realize she had no food until the sun had already risen.
That was how she found herself wandering through the unfamiliar city in search of a store that sold food, practically dead on her feet. She rubbed her eyes and yawned as she walked through a set of doors that looked right, squinting at her surroundings once she could manage it.
As it turned out, she was in a pet store, not a supermarket. But that wasn’t even the strangest part--standing behind the counter in a uniform polo shirt was... was...
“Komaeda-kun?”
