a rookie mistake { • komaeda + aoi
{✪}-- Everything happened far too instantaneously for her to properly comprehend the predicament. Never in her life had she made such an imprudent mistake before and she nearly cursed out loud for making herself look like such a rookie in front of her friends. Wait, that should be the least of her worries right now. At the moment, she needed to get this guy to the infirmary as swiftly as possible.
"A-Are you okay...?!" She frantically asked, her steps hastily carrying her to where the tall pale-haired boy had collapsed the very moment she unwittingly hit him with the synthetic rubber ball. This wasn't solely her fault, right? He should have known better than to pass by the basketball court where a group of overly-competitive girls were playing. But then again, blaming the victim was never really the right kind of thinking and she promptly pushed the thought away.
It was a luminously radiant Saturday afternoon when Aoi and her friends had decided to use the academy's outdoor basketball court to break a sweat but the scene that followed soon after was something none of them had foreseen. None of the swimmer's friends bothered to approach the boy, mostly speculating that this was Aoi's fault and that she should be the one to take the fall.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't think I threw it that hard! Are you feeling woozy or something?" The young brunette rambled on in genuine panic. "Do you wanna go to the infirmary? Oh gosh, why am I even asking? Let me bring you to the infirmary! Maybe the nurse can help you! Or at least let's hope she's there."
