困った時には星に聞け!
I just finish reading Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike and it’s hanging inside my head so long. It was such a beautiful bond in a nice story, with strong character building, and excellent artwork. It’s not a common genre though, it’s a shounen-ai, but it’s easy to forget that fact as soon as they read.
I cannot satisfy with the end, like it’s a nice opening one, but it makes people imagine so much later on. We don’t know what will happen to them after they go to university together. They will finally start living together, and since they live independently, they will need to cook themselves, be in the the house together without any dorm mates. They need to plan their lives together too.
I think Kiyomine has a scar when he realized that the person who just stays by his side is not guaranteed to be there by tomorrow. He went and compete in the professional boxing league to fulfill his friend’s wishes. Towards Takara, he wants to stay beside him as long as possible, do whatever they want together, and enjoy their time when it’s allowed to. He feared that Takara will disappear in front of his eyes. Takara haven’t realize it yet, but that time when he went out to take a punch for Kiyomine, he already made Kiyomine understanding one fact: they can do anything for each other. I found that conversation in the typhoon in front of Kiyomine’s house so touching.
- You haven’t listened to what I said yet! What do you want to do?!
- What do you want me to do?
- I asked first..!
- I will always do what you want.
It’s a deep bond. Kiyomine was afraid that if one day Takara sacrifices for him and dies, he won’t be able to face it and regret for life. He planned to step back, risked their relationship and stayed away from his beloved one. But he forgot that Takara is strong-willed and straight-forward. Takara will reach him himself, and doesn’t want Kiyomine to make decisions with rash, but talks with him properly earlier. They will be together, make decisions together, and choose to stay by the other sides. It’s blindly beautiful.
I don’t think we can measure how important somebody can be to one person comparing to the other, however there is a feeling that Kiyomine is maturing ahead and realized the depth of Takara’s existence to him. It’s far more than dorm mates, friends, or even a crush. Takara is the most important person in his life beside his sister. Ayako is the one acting as “mom” to Kiyomine, when Takara is the only non-blood-related person in his heart. He doesn’t see anybody else. It’s deep love, and more than that, it’s a fateful bond. Kiyomine doesn’t see him as a friend. He himself implied it to Takara, but Takara misunderstood and was angry. Takara is more like the owner of his life (ah ha now we see again the relationship between the Beauty and the Beast, or the Giant Dog and his Owner). I just wonder will their relationship turn to sexual side one day? With the current Takara, there is not much chance. He is a pure existence. He will be tricked by Kiyomine for sure... I think that his plan is. Takara trained him into a trust-worthy companion, when Kiyomine will lure Takara into his cage and feed him slowly with addictive desires.
I’m sorry for father Kou, but I really think that Takara will be away one day as a bride. Not really a bride, but a strikingly beautiful groom. His family doesn’t have much talk... Hosaka family has one alive boy as successor, so I think it should be it. Kashiwagi family is another story. Reichii and Yoshiya’s relationship is not the focus, so we only know bit by bit, but they have been going as far as going to USA to study together (well, ok I guess it’s possible if they are close friends only too), and have the surgeries. They can be partners for life too. Then Tsukasa gonna be the hope. And we have Masaya and Ayako, I guess it’s fair...
They are together with the dog. So lovely... like a tropical trip together.
Another daily life shot.
They look much more mature in this one. Love it.
