Robyn - Honey @robynkonichiwa #robyn #konichiwabitches #robynkonichiwa I’m back in the record playing game after a second stretch of holiday and I’m stoked to finally have my copy of Robyn - Honey in hand all the way from Sweden! I’m a lifelong Robyn fan, all the way back to “Do You Know What It Takes” and I was so happy in the 2010’s when she came back with the Body Talk series sporting a super dancey and funky style with all the same flawless pop sensibilities of her earlier works. I got to see her several years ago and whether or not you get down on her music, if you saw her perform live you’d have to give her credit for her energy, her dedication to putting on a super engaging and exciting live show, and the fact that she danced for almost 3 hours straight (even during not one but TWO breaks that the rest of the band took throughout the show). Robyn is a quintessential pop star and is one of a dying breed of performer that cares more about her craft than her number of likes on social media. She’s mysterious, she’s ever-changing, and she’s apparently incapable of putting out music that doesn’t speak right to my heart. Honey is definitely a bit of a different beast from the Body Talk records and it’s slower, it’s sexier, it’s even almost dark at times, but with a few listens I settled in real nice with it. If you’re not sure where to start, check out “Human Being”...it’s both a fantastic track on this album and it’s also an interesting counterpoint to her last 3 albums that repeatedly told you that she may, in fact, be a robot. She’s human again, and Honey is the proof of it. #grado #rega #vinyl #vinyladdict #vinyljunkie #onmyturntable #nowspinning #nowplaying #vinyligclub #vinyllovers #vinylclub #vinylrecords #vinylcollectionpost #lp #records #vinylexams (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsQzPHuglp-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=tdfy07bwkll6
