Line distribution has always mattered in Morning Musume don't make me laugh. Back in the ASAYAN days they would show the line distribution of the new song and who got what lines. They would literally show the members' reactions to the line distribution. And members have always throughout the group's history talked about how NOT getting lines makes them feel. Yasuda said she felt so depressed about her position in the group until she inherited most of Asuka's singing parts in '99. Rika always got more parts than members who were objectively better at singing than her. KonKon got to lead a whole single even though Tsunku did an interview in a magazine saying she was the worst singer he had ever worked with in his life. Reina said not getting lines for a few singles after Shabondama made her panic and want to work harder. Mizuki talked about feeling useless because Riho got more parts than her when Riho was still in the group. Kaede said getting less than ten lines in the 2018-2019 concert compared to other members made her rethink being in Morning Musume. Sakura only has the most lines since last year. She was second to Mizuki for a few years. Wotas care, but the members notice when they don't get lines too. But sure - over the 27 years of Morning Musume history only the best singers get lines, no funny business. And the members don't care about line distribution at all. Lol please.
