So many things have been said about ITMBC, but you know what caught my attention (beside Nut being fabulous) it's that it's going to give me something I love: brothers' rivalry!
It just came at the right time when I'm going to no more have Reset and the rivalry between Thada and Thiwthit, ITMBC is giving me another one to analyze every week.
I haven't read the comic, so I'm watching the series with no more knowledge about the characters than what the series is giving me. On one hand, we have Kosol, the king's older brother who doesn't have a title again and who is plotting against his brother to take over the throne. On the other hand, we have Chaiyachet, the younger brother who is the king. Their relationship is strained, yet, it seems like Chaiyachet is trying to reconnect.
Apparently, Kosol doesn't really believe what his brother says and so I guess there are two reasons why Chaiyachet is trying to get closer again to him: first, he indeed is missing his brother and he is trying (in a very clumsy way) to spend time with him, second, he is only pretending to get closer to him because he knows Kosol is plotting against him. It's the strategy of "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".
In my opinion, it's a bit of both. We still haven't seen the "cunning" side of Chaiyachet and I believe he is young, so that's why he has a mix of nativity and ingenuity in him. There is probably a part of him that misses Kosol, but he isn't stupid and he knows his brother believes he should be the one on the throne. We still don't get exactly what happened, how was their relationship before Kosol ended up in prison and all the ins and outs between them. So for now, it's mostly guesses that I can make.
Chaiyachet appears to be young to me because the way he acted and these questions about "Why is Kosol hungry-power" or "Would he kill him" show some vulnerability. Obviously, it could be a very deceptive way of trying to strike a chord and make Kosol renounce his project. In fact, I believe Kosol doesn't really hate him because he told Prince/Woradet that he didn't want to kill him (which frankly isn't a great idea too because letting your "enemy" be alive is never a great idea. If Chaiyachet is the real "enemy" of Kosol)
As for Chaiyachet he let him out of the prison and if he really hated his brother, why not killing him? It's not exactly a wise idea to release someone who would like to take your throne or who doesn't like you. Even if you take back his title, he can still be a thorn and be pretty dangerous. You never know when he will go after you again. If he did it once, he can do it twice. There must be other people who would like to help him.
In a way, we could also have someone else that is putting the two brothers against one another to truly hold the power. As it seems like Chaiyachet is a young king who has a lot of enemies, it wouldn't surprise me that someone else was taking advantages of the brothers' rivalry.
Oh! I can't wait to know more.
NO. WAY. NO WAY. I refused to believe that Oom ended up with Kosol instead of Pim. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT. Because why the heck Kapook always got the heartbroken character one??? In my head Oom & Pim is meet somewhere and start their romance and ended up happily ever after 😭
Just Your Average Nat Geo Documentary ✨💚😌
